Impact & Resist part company |
Author: silver
|
Hardcore label Infexious audio have sent over some news regarding hardcore producers Impact & Resist:
After over 2 years together running Infexious Audio & as one of hardcore's finest double acts, Impact & Resist have decided to part company.
There are many reasons behind it, but the main reason is that musically they are going in different directions & although they still remain close mates, the pair have decided to go off and pursue careers individually.
What does that mean for Infexious Audio? Impact will be continuing to run the label with the promise to continue to deliver the highest quality hardcore on the market.
Both Impact & Resist would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the last 2 years and we hope that you still continue to support the label.
Thanks for the memories
Impact & Resist
Impact & Resist will be playing their last ever set together at Utopia in Sydney, Australia on June 30th. Both guys have told us they will ensure it's a memorable one, so if you're in town make sure to check it out. |

DJ Rankin to be released on AATW? |
Author: roundhead711
|
Rumors have been flying thick and fast over the past few weeks about a new, original song by controversial artist DJ Rankin that is being signed to the record label AATW.
In case you're new or been under a rock DJ Rankin previously released unofficially under his own artist name other peoples songs, in most cases speeding up and adding out of time acapellas or samples over the top. Most of Rankin's fans, who were blind to the truth, too young or new to dance music to know the original, or didn't understand how music works, jumped to Rankin's defense claiming he is a "DJ" and is entitled to release such releases and thus the internet flame wars started (ed note: This NOT what a DJ does!). We can officially on the record state that Rankin previously (in the past) did in fact take other peoples tracks, modify it with some speed up samples and release it with a new track name and added his artist name (removing all previous artist credit). The controversy gets even hotter when DJ Rankin is quite a popular (in terms of fans) at underage dance clubs in Scotland drawing quite large crowds at the events. Does the future of artists involve creating so much controversy around your name you actually create a brand for labels to sell?
Although the new clip of this new tracks is not a hardcore track, Rankin had previously unofficially released "his" version of hardcore tunes.
Audio (MP3):
DJ Rankin - When I think of you (Lee S Remix)
We have contacted both DJ Rankin and AATW for official comment and confirmation on the release and we are yet to get an official confirmation on it. We don't know when it will be released, if it will be released or in what format, but as clips of the track are emerging few thought a news story might help get things out in the open.
If you want more background on DJ Rankin, there are a few videos on YouTube about Rankin's past (video 1, video 2) and some defending him (video 1). We encourage you to look into all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
All Around the World (AATW) are an English based record label responsible for titles such as Clubland X-treme hardcore, Ultrabeat / Mike di Scala and Darren Styles - Save me (commercial mixes). |

More info on Platinum Rave Weekender CD |
Author: silver
|
After a few phone calls HappyHardcore.com has managed to get retail packshot artwork for the upcoming album Platinum Rave Weekender. Although hard to read the pack cover text gives some more information on the album.
The text is:
"3CD - Essential Rave Anthems
Featuring:
Shamen, SL2, Underworld, Armand Van Helden, Rozalla, Future sound of London, MC Pasha, Traffic, Liquid, Dirty Funk, Tisto, Bizarre Inc, Data, Oceanic, Logic and more"
Giving good indication that there is a general oldskool / dance element to the album plus upfront material. At the moment it seems DJ Vibes mixed the entire album as there has been no indication that anyone else is involved. No tracklist or confirmed release date just yet, stay tuned.
Platinum Rave Weekender is available for pre order now.
