Because with every drug you take, you take the risk of having a serious, a lot of time lethal, reaction to it.
No more than taking pharmaceutical drugs. You need to get out of the habbit of listening to what the media tell you. The ammount of people die simply from drugs themselves are almost non-existant. If anything it's because they've done it irresponsibly or because of adulterants, and since neither would apply here there is pretty much no risk.

You need to stop reading the newspapers. Just because someone reports something it dosn't mean its an accurate portrayal of reality. If suddenly the newspapers started reporting all the people that died from choking on a range of vegetables then you'd feel the same way about them too, but it dosn't make them actually any more dangerous does it, you wouldn't be blaming the vegetables. Yet i can assure you many more die that way.

People die for taking medication treatment for cancer, would you stop that? People die from painkillers would you stop them?
Any drug can kill, that's life. The people who are dying off it are taking crazy shit amounts of it and are mixing it with other drugs and/or to much alcohol.
I've taken it personally and it's not that bad, the only problem I had was that my nose was on fire when I snorted it, and I wanted more of it not long after I took it, it didn't take long for that to go though.
As for tobacco being legal and weed not, do you get stoned off tobacco?
