it is under electronic music yes - but its not hardcore..
simple as that...

Righty, just thought i'd post a link to a techno tune so everyone can here for themselves why hardcore is not techno.
The comparisons Fred has given are sub genres of a specific genre - metal. That is the same as asking someone to tell the difference between all the hardcore sub genres - breakbeat, freeform, upfront etc. It’s not the same as asking someone to tell the difference between techno and hardcore as electronic music is not a specific genre it's just a heading for anything made completely electronically, its as vague as saying "band music".
