^^ dude i totally agree, i get annoyed when my mates pay me out for listening to techno...they have no idea bout the little webs of different music under the whole heading of electronica, its like they dont want to give it a chance, they dont know it, so they hate it, and they pay me out for it...its geh
and it is like calling country heavy metal, inexperienced people would not even get those mixed up, so, yes it annoyes me

so how are your friends supposed to know the different subgenres of one (electronic) type of music?
im sure you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between heavy metal, black metal, death metal, speed metal, grind metal, industrial metal ect ect cus you spend all your brain powers knowing the different subgenres of electronic
someone name at least one country rock artist
i bet you cant

Whittle techno isn't dead it's still going very strong labels like stay up forever, raw etc. etc. it is just very underground in the uk supported mainly by the free party scene.

Yes it kinda offends me, because there not the same. I wouldnt expect my mum to know the difference but i would expect most people. ITS HARDCORE NOT TECHNO!!

I honestly don't. Even though there not as bad as 50 cent and some other R & B names. Some of their words are quite catchy though, thats all. If i did like them i wouldn't be ashamed of it, their very good for their genre, and a lot of my mates like them.
