Just got around to listening to the tracks you posted, and have to agree those first 3 are hideous. However, you have also posted 2 horrible mixes; That love of my life remix is horrible the original and juicy cuts remix are much better. Also the 2 versions of Shooting Star on the original vinyl are much better than the one you posted, sorry.
Oh right, i was under the impression that the version of love of my life i linked to was the original version, and the one you posted was the remix that everyone remembers, although the convo i had with a mate of a mate about hardcore who told me this, while well wrecked was getting on for 10 years ago so im probably wrong lol.
While we are on the subject, i have always liked the version of heart of gold that i linked to best, and not the exclusive album mix that i have on vinyl in an old united dance 3 pack, which is this one..
It took me ages to try and convince a now very ex missus that they are different, despite her persistance that they are the same, i told her that the bassline changes, and the middle bit is totally different, as it has what i believe to be an electric guitar in, etc....i still don't think she believed me, even to this day probably lol.
As for shooting star, i like the original ones off the record that you posted too, as i have that vinyl, but the unique mix is just, well, unique, as for me it has a quest sort of feel about it, a bit like images of you with that bassline and beat, plus the 2nd verse is nice.
i just wish i could find one particular mix of that bang! classic as i only heard it once ages ago and have never been able to find it again.
The lyrics were kind of jumpy if you know what i mean, as instead of how the original one is, bits are repeated, like..
shoo-shooting star, accro-accross the midnight sky, gonna fly, fly, to be- to be with you tonight.
Never heard it again tho.

I like modern Clubcore, and the 3 tracks mentionned in the first post. Music I Love stands out as clearly amazing though, and I can attest it is a major dancefloor shaker.
Music I love is good indeed. I wish they'd release the vocal version (this version), I like it much better.
I really don't like the other two though, they're pretty weak. Something about the lead in the 3rd video is just lame to me :P

The Dr Who version of Love of my Life was the original, released in 1996, and then the juicy cuts version was released later in the same year I think.
I think the one you posted was the Northern Lights Version (Brisk Remix) on Next Generation and was released in 1999.
As for the Heart of Gold exclusive version you posted how can anyone not tell that it's different from the original, there's so many differences it's not funny.
Was this ever released on vinyl?

How can you not like that? :P I agree that the other two suck though.
Your comparison isn't fair anyways - you're comparing HUGE anthems from the late 90s to "album filler" tracks very few people like in 2009. I can name dozens of HORRIBLE album filler tracks from the late 90s too.

yeah check out guys like Darwin, Fracus and Marc Smith etc. These guys have a unique sound which is a lot less mainstream. Hardcore Underground 3 is where all the great tunage is.
