Ok, This Has Been Buggin Me For Ages..
Im Well Into My Oldskool Hardcore.. Esp The 95 Stuff.. The Trouble Been.. You Cannot Get The Stuff Anywhere Cos Its Stopped Been Produced..
so, what i am suggestin / think should happen is some sort of re - release policy.. i think it would be quite popular and mek the whole scene stronger.
and a good era to start would be the 94 4 beat time.. hehe.. then i could buy every release !!
=op
so come on silver.. have a word with all your mates in the business!

the oldskool hardcore revival thing, i know is goin on..
i jus hope that it isnt cheesy new remix's of yet more classic choons tho..
rather new choons with that oldskool vibe to them !!!
the main point i was tryin to raise the was that i think someone somewhere should start re-releasing old releases.. so the public can buy em again !!
stuff like motorway madness, toytown, partytime, 6 days, etc..
all the classics should get a re-release..
that wud be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !
hehe

*nods* i agree, it would be nice to have alota old classics more redily available...
for one it keeps them alive to the listerner....
and also... it allows a whole new generation of DJs to more easily spin classic choons... now i know... newer DJ's can stick with newer releases and have a differant sound than older ones... but...this way it'll be easier for the lil guys to intergrate some oldschool choonz they love, into all the crazy new stuff ;)

The old skool "style" (Stabs/breaks/pianos etc) is a good idea. I think mainly because when old skool was around before, some HH people now were about 5 years old, so to them, it's like a whole new era of great music opened up, and quite rightly, they like it.
The old skool stuff was very exciting. As musicians, it was almost anything goes, I mean listen to the middle of Smart e's loo's control, and we stuck a skank pattern in there, with a reggae bassline!
However, people got very fickle, and that all seemed very cheesey, it all got too serious, so that fun side stopped. Believe me, we used to go into the studio with a totally blank canvas and just throw ideas in. The only criteria was "Does is sound F***in' great". Now it has to be..."Does it sound great, and will we get caned for putting it in there?".
Consequently, the music was much more diverse and it wasnt a case of "That's too cheesey, or that's out of date" it was a case of... just bang it in, white it and lets see what happens.
If you can, check out "Bogus Adventure" by the Smart E's. That was our very very first outing into producing hardcore, and believe me, Luna C and Tom were just BURSTING with ideas, EVERYTHING went in. There's even a chord change for gawds sake!
Oh yeah, and we fitted every sample (yup even the long speeches) into a standard 750K S950.
Hardcore was really fun then....
Anyhoo,.... I like old skool too, and as for a revival, well I aint saying too much just yet, you gotta wait til next week (Monday 22nd), but stay tuned for the new Blaze! track. There'll be previews up but if your into breakbeats/stabs/piano's... OLD SKOOL... then you might like it..
Cheers guys
Nick.

I Aint Heard That Choon Nick, Love Sesame's Treat Tho !
=op
I Think The Oldskool vibe Should Get A Serious Revival.. Like You Said Now It Seems To Be A Case Of "Lets Put This Into Our Song, So It Gets Cained" Not A case Of "That Sounds Great In There".. i Think The Latter Half Is Definately The Way To Go As Ultimately Isnt That What Music Making Is All About.. Creating A Song That Sounds Good For The Right reasons, Not Because Its Following The Trend Of The Others Before It !
For Me, Thats What Shaped The Hardcore Scene Back In The Early Days..
I Started Listening To Hardcore Properly Around 95, However I Had Been Aware Of It For Sometime Before That, Classics Such As " 2 Crusing - 2 Pumping", "Altern8 - Evapor8", "Citadel Of Chaos - Searching For Gold", "Fantasy UFO - Headstrong" .. Classics Such As These Used Some Degree Of Experimentation, And Because It Sounded Right The Music Was Therefor Enjoyable.. But At The Time They Didnt Fit Into Conventional Dance Patterns, Partly Why They Were So Popular, Because It Was Something Fresh.. I Think Hardcore Has To Get That Back !!
On Another Note, Glad To Hear That Someone Has Also Had The Idea Of Re-Releasing "Oldskool Classics".. Im Gonna Get Saving !!

It's time for me to start buying oldskool, and I think its time for some re-presses! I want the classic tracks to mix with the nu-oldskool if hardcores gonna be movin in that direction. But I'm all for it.
