anyone else think this place has become lamer than ever?
a lotta people at raves always saw this site as mega plur lovin daft kids and fulla clueless people, but i've always enjoyed it and found that defo not the case.
made a lotta mates and spent a lotta time here, had wkd discussions over a good few years now and has became like an addiction for me to check up hardcore forums (not jus here but mainly tbh).
anyway i jus cant enjoy it anymore its just became infested with tits who'd rather talk about how shit bootleggers (cammy, rankin, pulse, notgotaclue, or any other dickheads) are than actually going out to raves and bein hardcore, or even discussing the music and production.
I've been away for a few days for coloursfest jus looked round the site and realised, bar a few people i like it's just not me anymore.
No doubt i'll still check it out wen im bored but i dunno, cant be arsed and defo aint gonna be spendin hours waitin for a topic jus to see another fanny make a "rankin" or "chav" joke.
Only jokes are them imo, anyway jus wanna no what other people think?
Is it jus me or has it became wank?

i agree, and i havent been here that long either :(
plus with the spammers recently.. and the football topics.
and general discusion out infront with the most posts aswell..
everythin's dying :(
i think it actually represents the general decline of hardcore again... ppl are loosing interest..
but on the other hand, cant really expect everyone to be goin OMG i went to this rave and Hixxy was playing AGAIN!!!! and ppl goin i love this tune.. and this one.. its music.. there isnt that much to talk about music. even if ppl went on about events they went to.. what else could they say? "i had a smashing time!!".. and? so did everyone else who went.
need something controversial or a big breakthrough to happen.. plus as time goes by ppl just get used to things... so stuff isnt as fantastic anymore.

I know where your coming from, less and less topics are about the music, and more and more are about general shite sadly. I know the releases are a bit slow and lackluster at the moment, maybe that has something to do with the lack of interesting threads about the music...who knows?
I would rather you stuck around, your one of the few decent ones in this ever mounting pile of shite that we call "members". However I understand the way you feel at the moment, and don't blame you if you only visit from time to time....I guess we all go our seperate ways eventually

I think the only reaon we notice the shit topics more is because there arn't any good hardcore ones anymore, there have always been people posting crap but more and more now I find myself posting in General Discussion and not really finding much in Music Discussion - Hardcore.... in short, we've probably got ourselves to blame...

no need for sadness mortis mate, your on my msn and we get along well, wont be loosin touch with you or other folks i like on here.
to be honest i live a borin life a lotta the time wen im skint so i doubt am gonna f*ck off completely , but dunno even after a few days away realised how much time i spend staring at pointless topics when should be getting on with things a lot more important.
Mibbe i infuriate people with my attitude, but wen some dafties who dont mix, produce, go to raves or anything seem to have an opinion on everything as if they no everything it annoys me.
I'm quite embarrassed sometimes i even bother arguing with them, shouldnt bother but i jus do hahahaha.
I joined this site with a few other hardcore ones but this is the one i chose to post on the most, always been some daft ones but i dunno jus preffered the atmosphere here.
My taste in music has changed in this time and a lottaa other things have, but i dont even think thats it. Just the conversations are so childish and petty, at 21 i cant even believe im still readin them and gettin involved.
Mibbe it's us that have changed mortis, but i jus think you could get a mature discussion in the past now its all "rankin sux", "chav h8a" dickheads i'd never associate with in real life.

think i've always been like that jenks mate, more come here for laughs in general than anything else.
like i said in last post i joined this site and others wen i moved area to find out about the hardcore scene where i lived, this one appealed.
even wen i was newcomer never got any hassle, if i did i'd obv take no shit off a keyboard fanny but the main members werent like that unless folks asked for it.
now there rude as f*ck to new folks interested in joining, have no opinions on hardcore bar the commercial cd's and as i keep repeating the bootleggers arguments now make my blood boil.

The forums and the members have changed a lot over the time period, I guess it was always to be expected as Hardcore became more popular and more people jumped on the wagon, and consequently this site was always going to get the brunt of the knobbers in the scene.

i can seriously agree with that actually simon.
i joined comin up for 3 years ago now and hardcore was in a period of rapid growth.
I'd been livin in scotland were our scene was all old bouncy techno/gabber and never came across anyone using internet sites.
First rave i went to down south folks told me to get on ush and here, which is when i joined.
A lot of you lot had been here a long time and had a good netwrok goin of knowledgeable members (some still here some not). I new very little of the newer sound of hardcore but was very interested.
Not once did any of you try act smart to me jus welcomed new people and i think in general a lot of people were quite excited with how things were going in the uk scene.
Every month new styles were appearing like from the trancy, to scott brown bringin it harder, the quosh bounce and later seduction comin back with his style.
Mibbe it is just cos my interest in the uk scene has died, am still a raver to gabber/techno/psy/breaks, open minded to anythin but uk hardcores defo not me anymore. Feel the same about here, jus seems to have changed into something that aint me anymore.
Jus people with no knowledge but the loudest mouth goin
So really wasnt a need for this topic jus wanted to see if anyone felt same

I'm pretty sure 'getting along' has nothing to do with the problem...

I love this place more than ever now.
Finally after years of just posting and posting I actually have turntables and music producing equipment that keeps me asking questions and i always know i can get an answer from practically everyone here.
When i joined there was 12,000+ members. Its doubled now. Though there are the few who are General Discussion whores, that still cant be looked at as a bad thing and that the scene is becoming 'unpopular'
Plus the way i look at it. You guys are funny and witty. My type of people. SOmeone starts a stupid ass topic, theres always a stupid ass remark from the veterans to go with it.
I <3 this place.

firstly u can whine at me saying I haven't been a member for long, but i used to check this site from way back, but never really bothered joining till I did because having a high post count and spamming in threads my opinion where it really wasn't that necessary never appealed to me.
2ndly I don't mean to offend you smoogie, i think your pretty cool at times, but all the useless threads you used to make didn't really help stuff much, i mean fair play making some of the threads u did (if it was about the scene) but mostly its just a load of old shit. hope i didnt offend nobody.. but thats where i see it goin wrong n stuff.

I can understand what you're saying, the forums are becoming less and less hardcore and more and more waffle.
I personally only post in the General Discussion unless it's to give feedback on a track a member has produced. The Hardcore part of the forums is where I read and learn whereas the General part is where I kill time.
If visiting the site is causing more anger and frustration than interest and humour then you gotta do what is right and take a break for a while, or steer clear of the General Discussion part of the forum. Although I would be sad to see less posts from you as, on the whole, you are one of the (few) members who post stuff I can actually read and enjoy, and you often tell it how it is - which is rare.
Anyway, hope you don't stay well away and the forums can appeal to you again some time soon.
