I don't think so, i used to like hardcore a bit more than i do now when i first started listening to it, but i still love it now, so absolutely not it is not getting boring! dj mull if you think it is getting boring, then i think you have gone through a phase of liking hardcore, and now just changing your flavour in music.

dont limit youself to one genre.
listen to a song too much, you'll get tired of it.
same goes with hardcore. if you contantly listen to the same kind of sound too much, it'll get old.
even though i love hardcore, its not the only music i listen to.
my usual day will include hardcore, metal, drum'n'bass, chillout, and a little rap

i cant speak for the boy but its definitely not like that for me, theres jus certain years of hardcore had more interest to me than others depending on styles and whats happening at the time. I've listened to hardcore since 96 but stopped for a gd while 99-02 cos i didnt think it was still getting made and trance was so good i wasnt that interested to look it up.
I'm not fussed cos is still more than enough tunes and parties i like and at the end of the day nobodys got to take in mind what i like when producing tunes lol, if people like the way things are goin fair play jus not my thing mainly.

one thing i would love to see more of in hardcore is eletric guitars as the main riff.
one of my goals is to bring in some hardcore metal influence into a hardcore track. with crazy guitar riffs, breakdowns, and fast hardcore metal beats :)

of course they do, it is the same in all music but with hardcore their are very few artists compared to pretty much all other genres. hardcore isn't boring for me but i have to search harder for stuff i want to hear. i listen to just mixes online nowadays as they offer the most diversity and alot of records from smaller artists and labels that you won't hear on the big CD's that are coming out as their sounds aren't as marketable
people think that hardcore has become worse than what it was 2-3 years ago but it hasn't it is pretty much the same. it is just 85% of the stuff that is played is from just like 10% of the artists all found on the bigger labels which have their own style that they don't differ from. just search the lower labels and you'll find the decent stuff

exactly why i find it boring, the big labels got big for a reason and thats because they created excellent new sounds and loadsa crackin tracks that work well in raves. 3 years on not much has changed for them and a lotta the smaller artists that have been signed and got releases are the ones that followed those sounds.
Think about the plus system evo sound for example, it's not as if it was just that label that stuck to it. About half of uk and spain practically cloned it and used it aswell meaning what once was immense jus dont sound as good for me anymore. Obviously everyone has there influences and scott browns such a deserved legend i can understand that, but loadsa tracks are beyond influenced there basically the same thing. That was the first label i got this feeling about but most the other ones have done the same aswell, stuck to a formula they no works and people recognise as theres.
It cant be easy to keep pushin forward and changing the direction of the scene, i really aint gettin at them saying i can do better i'm just saying i no longer feel the same about the music they produce. Cant help it i just dont but watchin videos of hardcore events from this year can see thoushands of others disagree with me.

Tha could well be the future, maybe it would start out with a bit of a guitar and then some heavey mettle drum beats and then its all heavy hardcore
Now that would give the mettle heads somthing to hate hardcore for lol

I think it is becoming boring, most songs seem like there made by reading a how to make a hardcore tune book. Same formula most of the time. I find myself searching for new styles and different beats and I'm losing interest in most of the mainstram hardcore cds like bonkers etc.

We are getting the next CD of our old tunes, imaginatively called 'Ionosphere - The Hardcore Years 2', ready for release
and one of the tracks, from 1994, has 'crazy guitar riffs', 4/4 Kick and BreakBeats.
....as they say, "there's nothing new under the sun".

Thanks Brian, knew you wouldn't let me down! ;)
Chwhynny is right in what she says - you will find variation if you look toward the smaller labels. Trouble is though, tunes released on smaller labels are about as rare as rocking horse shit! And when they do get released they're either already sounding old or there just aren't enough to make a difference.
My last couple of mixes have included tracks from all the 'big boys' (NG/BB, Quosh, Evo, RB, EP etc) But there were also tracks from labels such as RFU, TNC, KFA, Lucky breaks, Raw elements, Inner Vision... I support the smaller labels and lesser known artists as much as anybody but the releases just aren't coming in sufficient numbers (possibly because of lack of interest from the 'masses').
How is this going to change? nobody is disputing the quality of the hardcore that's being produced but there are 20 labels out there whose release schedules would make Raver baby look superfast at getting their tunes out!
If the smaller artists/labels are scared of losing money by releasing tunes that nobody either wants or knows about, they won't bother, it's that simple! A lot of the bigger labels are set in their ways so you don't get many new artists appearing on them - meaning a lot of top tunes never get released.
I think we're lucky that a lot of these smaller labels and artists have the dedication to carry on despite them getting chuff all back from the scene that they are giving so much to. Hopefully they'll stick around to pick up the pieces when hardcore takes a tumble (next year or the year after at the latest i reckon).
I remain optimistic about the future of hardcore - it's the present i'm a bit dubious about.
Can't win really!

same goes with hardcore. if you contantly listen to the same kind of sound too much, it'll get old.
that's the problem though, all RB songs sound pretty much exactly the same along with evo, quosh and to a lesser extent NG/BB (their saving grace is ham)
so when 5 songs sound the same even if you listen to all 5 twice it seems like you have listened to the same one 10 times
it happened to me, when i first started getting back into it like 16 months ago, all i used to listen to is RB style stuff (absolutely hated freeform, gabber, breaks etc) and i soon got sick of it so i moved onto different sounds and styles( of which i used to hate). the difference is however that unfortunately the majority once they get sick of it will just stop listening to hardcore altogether instead of searching for better harder to find stuff.

Yes and no
I dont listen to that much from the bigger labels(Evo, Raver Baby, EP) and buy even less, Next Gen is probably the exception for me. Even then i only buy the odd release.
