well, is it?
I mean, so many tracks use similar, kicks, bass, trance leads, even the arrangement of many tracks is becoming oh too familar. Time for some invention and creativity!!

No I would'nt be soo worried, IE: Have you heard the bonkers 15 e-card? Heard any tracks from Vagabond lately.

Yep.
Most tunes i buy these days are forgotten about after a few weeks. Real innovative tunes are few and far between these days.
(waits for 350 replies saying 'fook off, ardcore iz bangin innit')!

Yes it is
Back in 96 every track had breat breaks beats and kickdrums, now all it is is a woman singing somthing, a bass line, simple beats speeded up, a trance melody and thats about it!
Ok not all tracks are boring but things do need to change, bring back breakbeats and mix it with somthing new? hardcore is about beats, not trancy pop ballards on fast forwards lol Anyway there is some good hardcore out there, it just isn't as well known beacuse it isn't relesed into the charts

i agree, there is alot of good "background" music about... and not much innovative stuff.
but then.. if everything was new and innovative.. nothing would stand out..
but it is about time for something new/fresh. but i dont think its a case of ppl not trying, its not always easy to make a mindblowing tack just when u think.. oh i make a mindblowing track. not easy at all lol..(ive tryed and failed lol)

But is it? For me the beat is the least important thing and that is one thing the producers wont go backto using - the old styles beats. Also breakbeats are still here if you look and kickdrums never went away I think when you say kickdrum you mean the really distorted type used in older tracks...

I can see where your coming from but it doesn't bore me, I listen to a variety of other genres so I get a good variety of stuff that way... maybe thats why.

Definitely not true!!!
It entirely depends of what you listen to. The variation is there, but it tends to be ignored by the masses. Search and you will find.
Try listening to material from some of the smaller labels. ;)

A lotta people are thinking the same at minute mate, i dont really buy uk hardcore anymore because of the points you made about same old synths, structure etc. Joey riot and dj kurt have impressed me a lot but still aint been enough releases with enough imagination comapred to other years.
I dunno if anyone else sees it this way but heres how it's gone for me the last few years. 2002 after dismissing hardcore as in the past i started to hear a few new hardcore sets at old school nights and liked what i heard a lot, decided to check it out more and spent a night in the hardcore bubble at the first magna must've been 2003. I got to see brisk, scott brown etc and it was incredible, every label had developed there own sound that was interesting, fresh and sounded futuristic and was definitely the scene i wanted to be part of.
2/3 years later most the big labels are still sticking with the same sound they were playing out then, a few things have changed i.e got more cheesy or a bit harder but in general it's still very much the same sound. To newer ravers they're still finding this fresh and new and i cant blame them for it, but after hearing it in raves regularly for years im totally bored to death with it.
Theres some up n comings workin hard as you can get to push new sounds but very few seem to get enough support from the ravers to actually get bookings, releases etc. Also too many up n comings have took the other option of following other peoples structures, leads etc and jus adding there own take on it. Hearing the same sounds is definitely my pet hate. You cant even lie the blame on anyone in particular because as soon as somebody gets an idea thats good people try to clone it and get a release for themself.
Theres definitely one big improvement in scene last while has been smaller events been able to survive as hardcores got more popular, i'm very glad of this as i've had some crackin nights and even though i dont buy much uk hardcore anymore i still love to go out to parties.

for me the best change would be to involve different lead sounds, too many tracks use the typical supersaw e.g jp 8000 lead e.t.c. Also i'd love to hear more stuff like dougal and gammer's "stomp" really hard and aggressive style hardcore. I remember when hardcore started changing into a more trancey style around 3 or 4 years ago and the music was really fresh and interesting. I wonder if 4/4 kicks would work without off beat bass lines?

100% true the smaller labels are bringing out some wkd stuff but is hard to get vinyls for us still using them.
i'm not bored of hardcore at all jus bored of upfront uk style really, still buy loadsa gabba and theres been some immense spanish releases kinda like german trance at minute. So mostly spend my cash on them, old bouncy techno/dutch hardcore and few bits of melodic trance.
is still an incredible lotta talent in dance music and i could never even have enough money to buy every release i want, but the stuff thats getting popular in the uk hardcore scene is not my thing, even big raves and everything i can jus tell the scene aint going in the same direction as me.

Funny thing is, no one in any other type of music complains about the same sounds being used. You dont hear Metal heads saying "damn bands always with the electric guitars, why not use a violin or something!".
Also bands always have a cerain style you can tell it's them without knowing, its the same thing as labels having "their sound" that they don't usually stray too far from.
