I can see why you may think he is over rated, because i agree as of late his tunes have NOT been up to the standard they were 2 years ago. Evolution is getting very repetitive now so it would be nice to see some new styles or even some new ARTISTS being released on the label.
Credit where credit is due though he is one of the longest running players in hardcore, he is great live. His mixing is definatley good, but i still dont think its as amazing as people say it is.
As for unsung heroes.......yeh all the people you said have definatley had the respect they deserve as their all top tier players.
In my opinion Scott Brown is fully deserving of his recognition, and hopefully next year wel see EVO back to its best.
My unsung heroes..... K-Complex, Resist, ASA, DeeJay Bee, and particually Devestate.

Scott Brown is like the best or one of the best producers in Hardcore. but people may think he is over rated because he templates the crap out of his tunes. but still each tune is Blody good.

I call the shots is just very bland, just another track. Same with the B-side. On the other hand i do quite like the Euphony tracks Let me go is deffinatly something i would play out a bit. And euphony is not new artist, he's been around for years

you know your great when people come on to defend your name and 5/10 say they are the reason they got into HHC. He is the reason i got into this birlliant artform....a colorful explosion of music......he is good though a little dissapointed with him lately i will admit but still he deserves the recognition he gets and its very easy to say why.

I've been thinking he uses the same production 'templates' too often for a while too. Many a cheesy sample featuring the hardcore, makes you think "right, i know it's hardcore, i'm listening to here, now please stop using those shitty samples to keep telling me that."
Also the tracks feature many a sample from a shit American commercial rap track about the typical, same old, guns and hoes theme, and the same old tired out euphoric trancey female vocals. A formula custom made to appeal to the non-educated teenage/boy racer chav/chavette?
That's just his production for you, although I must admit I liked the formula before it got used for the 30th time. I prefer his gabba productions that I've heard so far in comparison to his happy hardcore stuff.
Now for his DJing. I think the whole PC automatic DJing thing isn't right at all. If I was going to call him over-rated for one specific reason, it would be for the pc automixed bonkers cd scandal. I'm paying to hear DJing, not a compiled tracklist after all.

over 10 years with the whole scene around for about 15... he had to put some effort into it and with his variations in style he is obviosly trying to give wat most people want maybe not all the time but FcUk no i dont think he is over rated. Im tryin to see were other ppl would be comin from but he is one of my fav DJs out there, and to me a legand.
