I don't think he's over rated, but I do feel some of his tunes of late have lacked something.

Agreed, He's not done anything special in a while but most of his past stuff has been pretty damn good.

He's not producing as efficiently as he used to, but it is safe to say that he is definately the most well known British Hardcore DJ.

I wouldn't say he is overated

I think he is a legend IMO but then he has been around for a long time, maybe not as long as some others but there is at least one track of Scott Brown's yopu must like

I like Technophobia (bass reaction)

I've found nearly everyones opinions interesting, but it's still nice 2 see that someone out there thinks that he is over rated. Cheers mnmcandiez :)

Evel: There are many of his tracks that i like.

And also, some of you have agreed that a lot of his stuff of late has lacked something. (around the last 18 months in gobbo23's opinion). I havn't properly been into hardcore for 18 months.

Will everyone agree that his big reputation was made years ago? And that it still goes around today, and probably will even if he brings out a pile of b011oks for his next few albums (hypathetically) because he was such a god a while ago?

I don't know if that makes sence so basically, Is he popular for what he has done in the past, or for what he is doing now?

Breeze - Another great example! Lots of quality tunes.

And Hixxy!!!

And to venture a few more Kev Energy, Sharky, Weaver, Brisk, Seduction, unknown, Impact and resist.

Not having a go at Scott Brown, but my posertive views on his work have dropped latley. But it always seams like the same stuff all the time. But all i hear around here is SB this andSB that. And IMO it's not fair.

But then again, mabye its different everywhere else, it could just be around here that SB is the only god.

Every single one of those artists u mentioned has had their time in the spot light. I dont recall anyone not giving them the proper respect they deserve. Scott Brown may be overated to some people but for the accomplishments he has made and for the hardcore scene, he defo deserves all the respect hes getting.

Its the music industry man, its a crazy one.

I think it's funny that most people love him now, when I feel he did his most innovative work 10 years ago =P

his works now are very cookie cutter, I still enjoy the occassional one and I'll most likely pick up his remix of detonated when that comes out...he does deserve respect for all the work he's done.

Scott Brown is awesome
his tunes are great (hundreds of em)
his mixing is good
his crowd presence is awesome
he's an awesome guy

how could he be overrated?

also...you said some of those that are famous and mix as well as he does
well those don't have as many quality releases behind their belt and aren't behind the top hardcore label

and the names mentioned are all famous big names so they dont' count...they're almost as well known as scott

and btw hixxy is totally not as good a dj as scott brown
hixxy trainwrecks and he's probably the one out of the top hardcore djs who has the worst mixing
it's not bad but it's nothing spectacular

(his mixes on hardcore compilations don't count...those are all computer mixed anyways)

i've heard that SB's sets have always been the best of the night on the stages he plays because of the huge variation he puts into his sets

never seen hm live so i can'y comment but his releases are all a bit samey to me but then again s are S&B's, hixxy's, S&U's
