Okay well, I was watching VH1 right now and if you live in america, you know how they have these stupid celebrity shows and have these random somgs playing in the background. Well, just now, I heard Pretty Green Eyes by Ultrabeat. I know this isn't a big thing in the UK because you hear that kind of stuff all over. But in america, on TV, a remix of a hardcore tune, that unsettles me a bit.

Of course my feeling of this is based off my opinion of hardcore turning mainstream.

That is all.

i saw a show of nypd blue that had a nightclub scene and a hardcore song was playing. before the words started they went outside to talk to a criminal, so i couldn't catch the tune.

don't stand and stare, just kick your legs in the air

There will again come a time when hardcore has a bad spell......but this I feel is not that time.

see, everyone is picking up on it, a couple years ago a local radio station was using hardcore for background music for commercials, sounds pretty wicked to me!

I dont think hardcore will ever been 100% mainstream. I would like it to get to the point where it might be played on the radio here and there or at alot of clubs that dont usully support electronic music. I think it becoming more mainstream would show off the talent hardcore artist have.

It's not the beginning of the end its a new beginning.

That tune was huge in britain! to be honest ide be suprised if it wasnt on amercan tv at some point or another, it was more or less a 'pop' song anyway.

and it was a cover not a remix!

I find this subject so funny and stupid it's taken me this long to actually express my whole opinion...

* The main section of society will not think this is a Remix of anything though will they? To most people Ultrabeat's Pretty Green Eyes IS the Original!!! And besides, that version is far from Hardcore, and so Hardcore itself is not going commercial...

** It's easy to criticise things, not so easy to say when things are going well... I notice this view coming more from over in America than in the UK to be honest. You lot all seem to be very negative and fearful about the whole 'Hardcore Commercialisation' thing... Well i have no idea to be honest on how commercial Hardcore is over in the U.S... But over here i would like to say (with a hidden smile) that the successful attempts with 'Commercial Hardcore' tracks are almost non-existent! Pretty Green Eyes was taken from a Commercial Dance point of view, and didn't try to be anything Hardcore. You're Shining and Heartbeatz have failed miserably to be honest! I mean i'm not slagging them off here, Breeze & Styles are f*cking amazing in my opinion, i love them like, and i have bought both You're Shining and Heartbeatz to help the scene in any way i can... But i don't see what everybody is so worried about because they aren't selling very well at all!

One last thing, the Clubland people can't HANDLE Hardcore... Sure they have You're Shining, You're My Angel, Heartbeatz etc etc on their albums, but they have SLOW MILD tracks... even the original Heartbeatz seems hard compared to those Clubland versions... and thats not a joke!

well thats my two-pence... Phoenix

The simple fact of the matter is that the remix ISNT hardcore. . .so its not hardcore thats going mainstream at all.

You've nothin to worry about - Just because they remix our songs into something they like, doesnt mean they like the originals! Sure might have a few ignorant people saying "oh i like the slower commercial original version of this song better" but really. . . thats just a minor annoyance!

Not quite convinced about Hardcore going mainstream anytime soon, but....I remember when CD's were advertised at 2 in the morning on channel 4, the other night Hardcore Nation was advertised during Hollyoaks (Bout 6:30) It's just becoming more popular thats all, which isn't necessarely more mainstream...anyway just thought i'd throw that in. (btw I accidently flicked Hollyoaks on, honest )

When you put your money in on DDR extreme, instead of picking a difficulty, press right 4 times, then pick non stop, scroll thu and pick "happy hardcore"
you end up getting 7 hardcore (momo/speed) songs in a row for your credit
