Heatwave for us Brits, and about f**king time! Will be in the 30's next week, and will stay for most of the summer, just a few weeks after the so called experts said expect 10 years of cold, wet summers!

lol you girls make me laugh. Come back to me when you see temperatures higher than 35, because we've hit the 40s a few times here in Houston already. And I'm talking Celsius of course.

we've had a completely rainy summer here so far, so I'm hoping your sun sticks around for at least another 2 weeks. Would be nice to see some blue skies while on holiday!

LOL @ the "heatwave" of 30 degrees.
Pretty standard for our spring, not to mention the random days of high 30s - 40 in spring.
Don't even get me started on summer. My thermometer outside maxed out at 50 celsius on more than one occasion last summer.
30 is pretty mild.

haha! that's true, we got -11 in Glasgow a couple of years back, now that was chilly!
Andy - what you've just said there makes me glad I don't live in Oz, that's insane!

Sounds great. But yeah here at 30 degrees people can't deal with it at all. But then they will complain about it being too cold in winter, too.

Personally I'd rather deal with -10 than 35+ weather, even though every year during the summer I deal with the latter. never gets too cold here , at the lowest it gets to 0. But you can keep comfortably warm enough to be outdoors in -10 degrees weather, but there is no escaping 35+ weather. You sweat just standing and doing nothing.

That's not really a practical option though. Good point about being able to warm up but not warm down though. Can't argue with that. Although personally i like a good roasting.

That's not practical because you can't live in the basement forever.
And Matt I too don't mind roasting in the sun, but that's if I'm on the beach laying out by the ocean with a drink in my hand.
When you have to commute and walk in that extreme heat with work clothes, it's unbearable.
