The legendary, dreadlocked, freeform-giant Eryk Orpheus is a much respected member of the HBC and after giving us an awesome track to give away yesterday he reminded us why! It may have been a little quiet from Eryk over the past couple of years but that?s simply because he has been locked in the studio, creating new forms of exciting boom!
This year Eryk is only taking a handful of DJ and live PA bookings to concentrate on some fantastic studio projects and we have been lucky enough to snap him up for two exclusive performances at ILHB. He has been working on an album as part of The Pressure Technique, which will be released late in 2014, getting ready to roll out a live PA to promote the album in early 2015, working on a highly anticipated Eryk Orpheus artist album to celebrate 10 years of being a solo artist, which will also be released in 2014, getting his Watchtower on and preparing tracks for WTR third release, and working on library music for an American publisher, all as well as teaching part-time at Canterbury college at levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 (B-tec, HND and degree). Phew!
As well as his own awesome studio business he is also one of the uber technical forces in the exclusive HBC live PA. This live performance really isn?t to be missed and is set to drop at our I Love Hard Beats event on May 24th at Crucifix Lane. He is also spinning a very special classic freeform back-to-back in the Remix Room with studio wizard K Complex.
