tl;dr I know a few of you watch anime, so can you recommend some good anime series?
From 2003-2005 watched shit loads of anime, from 2006-2010 hardly bought anything. Got some series in early 2011 and some early this year. Now again wanting to get back to it. Been going mostly by Amazon recommendations and browsing Anime News Network. Looking mostly for space scifi, comedy, slice of life and ecchi.
Some series i've lately watched and liked:
Gravion, Kanon, Starship Operators, Clannad, Samurai Girls, High School of the Dead, Planetes, Aquarion, Heroic Age, Elfen Lied
Some highly rated series i didn't like:
Claymore, Clannad After Story, Gunslinger Girl 2, GitS Stand Alone Complex.

I'm not much of an anime person (I haven't seen a single one you listed on your "liked" list, for one) so I have no idea. I did enjoy it myself, though.

highly (over-)rated that I didnt like:
NGE, Cowboy Bepop.
Well, even tho I watch alot of anime, I dont think i have any particular recommendation. I tend to like anything that's supernatural (non-slice of life) that leans towards comedy. But based on what you (and I) like, you like fanservice animes :P
Dragonaut, Gun x Sword, Stardriver, Eureka Seven, Xam'd Lost Memories (something).
For shows airing in japan now, I'd say Medaka Box (manga is better thou)

Loved this, pretty dark.
I quite liked Shuffle! and Gift: Magic Rainbow. Also Lovely Complex which I think was one of the first Anime series I ever watched. I also liked The Law Of Ueki but it's a bit of a Pokemon/Beyblade type show.
If you're interested in films as well Origin: Spirits Of The Past is fantastic. Really recommend that.

Elfen Lied
Claymore
Helsing: Ultimate
The list continues
Anime i'm currently watching:
Naruto Shippuden

Have watched half of NGE, going to get it eventually. But wasn't something id rush to the stores to buy. Haven't seen Cowboy Bebop, used to be a series everyone recommended, but never seemed that appealing to me.

Fanservice, when done properly is either hilarious or titillating, yeah like it :P
Gonna need to check those series out, the ones i quickly googled seemed like something id like.

I've got that impression. Maybe they were just complimenting the quality of the BD release, can't remember.

Had Shuffle! but sold it before finishing it. Didn't like it at all :P Will check those others out.
Edit: Love post-apocalyptic stuff, will definitely get that Origin one.

I would also suggest to check out the Rebuild of Evangelion movies as well after finishing the series.

If you're looking for some ecchi for laughs at that'd be To Love Ru.
And if you want a dark and depressive magical girls, check out Mahou Shoujo Madoka (very popular, shocked many "innocent" magical girls fans, many japs asked it to be banned from TVafter episode 8).
Or a parody of mahou shoujo, vampires etc.: Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka
Popular series nowadays is K-ON! That's girly sort of seinen, and it's fun.

I recently watched Eden of the East, I enjoyed that quite a bit. I'd recommend it.
But based on your tastes, I'd say check out Code Geass, Kiss x Sis, Nichijou, just to suggest a couple.

The last few episodes are so confusing, then in End of Evangelion it doesn't get any better because it's still a complete and utter mindfcuk but still I find the series interesting for that reason lol.
