In 2005 it was Clubland Extreame Hardcore, HTID, Raverbaby ect
Now in 2011 its Minimal Drops, Electro, Dubstep ect This seems to have an impact on Hardcore.
So does that mean the days of Trancy vocal Hardcore are out just as Happy Hardcore was out in 2001?
Lets discuss...

No because it's very much still here. And regardless whatever replaces it would only be worse.

trance is still in hardcore... and it always will be...
the keyboard/piano riffs are trance fueled anyway so yea, trance isn't leaving us...
oh.. and breakdowns are quite euphoric so that's trance again

Trance has been in Hardcore since before 1997. Infact I have heard some tunes from as far back as 1994 that could even be played against some recent stuff without sounding too off the track.

Well, the Clubland sound as you put it is evolving as well. If you take a listen to the latest volume of the actual Clubland series, you'll notice a rise in the same electro and dubstep sounds that are taking over Hardcore and plenty of other genres right now. The typical cascada/ultrabeat/basshunter type of scouce bounce isn't nearly as predominant as it was a few years ago, back when it most influenced Hardcore.
I don't think the Clubland sound is gone just yet.

give me the good old 'hardcore drums' sound of tracks like I Can't Stop Raving by Dune! and "rainbow to the stars" . Now THOSE were the days. and also don't forget your good Gabber kicked= influenced Hardcore sounds like Buzz Fuzz - but the warped Chipmunk sounds may have been a bit overdone. so we can always replace it with beautiful singing voices of nice girls. e.g. Field of Dreams and Heart of Gold.

I don't think it's died it's evolving into a fresher sound. The vocals will always be around but with much more of a Electro, Dubstep and Techno influence.
Crowds tastes are changing, a set of constant trance riffs and cheesy vocals just won't cut it like back in the 2000's. The younger ravers tastes seem different and the hardcore scene is just moving with times.
It's a good thing, music gets stale and boring if it stays the same. Too me, 10 years of sped up gatcrasher style trance anthems is enough for me lol... Would you really want to hear that exact same sound for another decade???
I take my hat of too all those hardcore djs having the courage to experiment!!!

you hear the exact same sound running through every single song these days, how is that experimenting, if anything its lack of experimentation.

Can you explain why? Note that embedded in this question is the fact that I haven't really followed anything hardcore since late 08

Because Gammer has said the same thing. New turns and twists and experimentation. All that jazz, when its not good music. Yeah I can see the novelty in a little minimal track for fun. A 2 minute single bass track like bang yer head off, but only ever producing that style is ruddy annoying. Credit to him though hes released a few styles recently. I like the glitchy shit on HH:SM, even though the unmixed album was the ultimate rip off (and your not allowed to mix the ****ing tunes on youtube without being flagged by some company, so why release unmixed tunes is beyond me).
It makes HU5 seem more like salvation that an optional treat.

I think Electro & Dub Step need to take a back seat because it sounds horrible at Hardcore tempo. I think what we have now is just the lingering sounds of the 2005 Clubland hype.

It's not going to happen, trance is the sound that's taking a step back. Theres a lot more drum n bass in hardcore too with dubstep which is great.
Hardcore will hopefully get some credibility back instead of being known for speeding up shite chedder vocal trance Anthems.
