It's not the same sound though, some of it's electro, some of it's techno, some of it has breakbeats, some of it's dubstep. That's 4 different genres instead of just one genre!!!!!!
How was trance in hardcore ever creative???????? All it did was rip off another genre that was popular at the time. Not hard to copy a riff and speed it up a bit. While thses day thay are making whole new tunes with this new sound. Instead of remixing popular tunes from a gatecrasher cd.

don't think i ever said trance was creative..and the "new sound" isnt a new sound - its the same as the "old" 2004-2010..except its had all the vocals and melody stripped away
bar from the fact "some of it has breakbeats" (which is rare in uk hardcore anyway, as with dubstep, they're sometimes used as a small breakdown) those 3 other genres all sound Identical at 175bpm in a minimalist repetative manner..

nobody is saying it had to stick with the trancey edge - I'm just trying to help you understand why some people don't want to hear the same kick and offbeat bass with a couple of sound effects for 8 hours

Personally its not such an issue for me - all you have to do is avoid certain events and you barely have to hear it.

I completely agree with you though, the style of hardcore thats been kicking around for the last 6 years has well had its time - I think where we disagree is where hardcore should have gone! personally i think it should have morphed into something fresh rather than just loosing the vocals and melodys.

I have noticed that considerable amount of people here, sort of, "hate" modern Hardcore. Why is that? Ripoff of another genre is either as good or as bad as the individual producer's inspiration, and Styles and Squad-E are not the whole Hardcore scene.

Because to me it is absolutely awful. Compare it to stuff up to 2005, but more so before that. It's an entirely different genre, and not a good one either.

hmm, i don't think that many people here hate modern hardcore - I think its just the few of us that dislike UK hardcore tend to be a little "louder" than those who like it

maybe thats part of the reason so many users stay quiet?

I think Hardcore should take in some influences from Eurobeat.

I don't think it's possible to be any cheesier than it already is.

...and just when you think that, Sy & Unknown come up with something like Superstar. I like how some producers are still very true to the cheese in their songwriting.

Electro core is good background music. I was listening to Breeze's mix from klubfillers show on soundcloud in the bus while doing other random stuff on my phone and I did not get annoyed, so I consider this an improvement in my enjoyment of the sound.

I dunno about u guize, but as 4 me, I can barely enjoy oldskool stuff, like real HHC and bouncy HC. Prolly bcuz they have too little of Trance influence, concluding that cuz I loved Raver Raver Raver bouncy freeform. Also, I like how powerful modern stuff are.

I understand all of that passion though. U might hate modern HC, but it doesn't suck as much as u say.
