erm, sound quality, 192 vs 320 isnt that noticable
but you're talking 128 vs 192 which very noticable, you can hear the digital artifacts in the music, makes it sounds distrorted or perhaps more accurately "bitcrushed"
but yes - terrible analogy. it was free, and you didn't have to download it

It can do, but dosn't always. It depends on the encoder and the source quality. It will definately sound crap with a bad mp3 encoder. But 128 from the lame encoder sounds 'ok'. Could be better but not going to complain.

i had a track that I clearly could hear the vocals dissapear.
Exhile - Bounce, a track that appared on IMOdownload (funny enough). It was originally WMA 192, but I had no problems hearing the vocals (Well, he only did say Come on Bounce). When I mixed it, I saved the mix to 192 MP3, which slighly lowered the voice. To save space on my mp3 player, i re-encoded the mix to 128... What voice? IT was completly gone.
So yea, my analogue still works. It was Free, but it still rapes my ears, so I am deleting the file.

I was about to ask if it happened but then I saw Technikore stating last year that Hixxy lost all tracks due to a hard drive failure...
