I was just wondering to myself the other day, are there currently or have there ever been Happy hardkore artists who produce more than 1 style of music. That is, they produce other music besides Happy Hardcore? For example, Jam and Spoon took on a Project under the alias Tokyo Ghetto Pussy with tunes like "To another Galaxy" and " I kiss Your Lips" but they also made that tune "Everybody on the floor" that was more house than HHC
So my question is: Did they draw more from which influences when making their style of music?

I can't work out if you're asking for examples of people that produce in more than one genre? Or if you're trying to understand if the fact that they produce - for example hardcore - it would affect their production in another genre - say DnB, for example.
First one that comes to mind is:
Ham/Eclipse - Hardcore. Hamilton - DnB.
I think I've got that right.

Brisk and Ham - Stimulant DJS (hard trance/hard house)
Slipmatt - Slipmatt (has ventured into trance)
CLSM - CLSM (all over the place)
Vinylgroover - Vinylgroover (hard trance/hard house)
tons more..you know, most hardcore artists have ventured into other dance genres..
and just for fun:
Teisto - 'Da Joker' (happy hardcore/gabber)
ATB - Sequential One (happy hardcore)

Yeah, i'm sure the question is more to do with influences than asking who produces what under what name.
I think any decent producer will find it reasonably easy to make tunes whatever the genre - the only question for me would be are they doing it because they believe in it?

Yes djDMS , that's my point exactly. Do they believe in what they are doing it? ie. do they really love this type of genre or just experimenting in order to make a buck or two?

I don't know that they would do it just for a quick buck. Some would, do and will, but I think they more or less want to mature as musicians. In order to become a better producer and musician, you need to try new things, push yourself. A true musician (those in it for the music, not the money) will never be content with where he/she is at. They will always be striving to get better. And they'll be doing it if there music sells or not.

ultraskool, you might find this interesting bud: http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=53149&SearchTerms=extracy Remember Starstruck of AWF fame? He gives an insight into genre switching and influence in that thread. Scroll down to quite close to the bottom of the page for his thoughts.

That's a good point, but is there such as thing as "Commercial Happy Hard/ or Hardcore" for that matter, ?

Obviously that's a question that can only be answered by each individual and I'm sure the reasons for them producing in different genre's will be different for each person. The cynics would have you believe that if you're a hardcore artist and you make anything outside of hardcore then you're "in it for the money". Personally I think this is a stupid way of thinking and mainly an argument used by people who are either jealous or have no clue about anything.
With regards to influences, I think every producer in every style of music takes influences from all over the place.

Cube::Hard apparently makes hard trance now? That was in another thread but I dunno if he goes by the same name.
Remember E-Logic? Well he now does hard dance as Illogik
DNA is doing Drum n Bass now as Kiro, also as I mentioned to him recently, Simon Apex is doing Dubstep
Eruption is also doing hard dance, as is Vinylgroover as Scott Atrill, If you're lucky, Scott does take bookings for DJing his old happy hardcore as Vinylgroover.
Last I heard sometime last year Stompy was trying his hand at producing trance.
Trixxy is one half of the wide-boys, a garage/RnB type group who are actually very big in that scene I've heard. I /think/ he engineers for Scott Atrill too.
Billy Bunter has his fingers in all kinds of pies ranging from hardcore to grime but I think this is common knowledge.
Matt Carlton (Justin Time) has done loads of TV work and has also done some chillout & Lounge music too I believe.
I er, also do a bit of trance work on the side as "Armin Van Buuren"
