well if it's anything like the old red/blue & gold/silver version, each version has exclusive pokemon that the other doesn't carry
i got tired of pokemon mainly b/c there's a lack of a decent version on the wii that is anything like the handheld ones
they need to get with the program and create a version for the wii that is a true rpg.

Black and White are actually different from the previous games. They've implemented a lot of new stuff and it feels pretty fresh. The difference in the versions is more than just pokemon now. The stories and some of the locations are different. I can't see them making a pokemon for the wii because they value the portability of these games. They don't assume you're going to be glued to your couch at home playing this online. I like the portability better, it feels like you're bringing your pokemon with you more and when you're in front of someone physically, battling or trading or whatever it's more of a personal connection and that's what pokemon values.

that's a stupid argument. nintendo thrives on being a system with games of all ages, and even the ones that to you seem a bit childish have a place for ppl over the age of 20. hell look at super smash bros brawl. incredible game! the characters are of course the 'childish' staples of nintendo, with low violence in them, and yet it is a very popular series. we always played in college
granted the more violent games like COD will be more popular for the 20+, but nothing wrong with being into the cartoony games

Like with other anime and game franchises, Pokemon is a lot more popular in Japan with adults than it is elsewhere.
It irks me when people say "it's for children" like it makes a difference in the legitimacy or quality of whatever it is. I think too many people are uncomfortable admitting they like things not deemed socially acceptable to like at their age and feel uncomfortable when others do the same.

Someone didn't do any research. Pokemon started out as a game back in 1996, with the anime following around a year later.
