To be far filesharing is huge, i will admit that the majority of my music production gear isnt bought. But when i can pay for it i will have no problem forking out for something. Music wise i rarely fileshare if at all, i dont buy a huge amount of music i buy what i like.
But you are the problem with music and music software, people like you who dont give a **** about the consequenses of filesharing. Software companies like lennar digital and rgc audio and whoever else dont make a huge amount of money like you said. They have to pay programmers, testers, designers and other staff a wage to develop this software which isnt cheap and can take a while. Mutekki media and loop masters have to pay for the sample packs to be produced then mastered and mixed professionally. So no its not full of rich people!! Also i'd love to find out this well known producer who suggested you use pirated software cause hes clearly a ****ing mongo.

He then promptly paid me and I sent him the full package.

Honestly, in my opinion downloading software illegally is worse than pirating music, software can take years to make, software coding is a lot harder to do than produce music. A track can take a few hours or maybe 2-3 days to make from what I've heard from some producers, writing a program like Cue Base or the like take years.
As for software companies being loaded. No. Companies like Microsoft yes, but for the smaller companies no, just no. Lots of software companies go bankrupt because of people pirating their software, and as for hardcore producers not making money and being skint, find another job or make producing a hobby rather than a full time job, it's common sense. You wouldn't stay at a job that requires you to work 50 hours a week and only get paid 50 at the end of it would you?
And just because someone pirates music it doesn't make them less of a fan. Some people have legitimate reasons as to why they pirate things, main reason: Their 15 years old, no job, no bank account.
Personally, I'm a neutral on the whole file sharing thing in hardcore and in general, it happens, nobody can stop it, it's part of the parcel when you make something that requires you pay for it.
