X-Cyte has anouced he is 'retiring' as he lists all his computer, keybored and other bits and peices on gumtree here is what he said:

Selling my music production suite due to 'retiring' from production. Used to run Cubase 5, FLStudio, Cool Edit, Soundforge, After Effects etc.

X-Cyte made such tunes as Final Flight and Unexpected and loads more, its a shame that he is retiring and he will be missed from the scene and i wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to do.

EDIT here is what he put on facebook:

Hey crew!

I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your continued support over the last few years! Without it, i wouldn't be as recognised as i am now. So again, thankyou all so very much.

But it is with a heavy heart that i am leaving the music behind. The reason for this is a mixture of personal and 'hardcore' related things.

As a whole, the scene I chose to represent is amazing. You have some awsome talent to look forward to, such as Fracus, Darwin, NuFoundation, Entity, Chris Ross, Mike Modulate, Matt Petruccio, i could go on, but it would take all day!

But then, theres the other end of the scale. I wont go into detail, but those of you that know the scene, you know what i mean!

Again i would like to thank each and everyone of you for your continous support, but mostly i would like to thank Craig of NSR Records, for taking a chance on me and pushing for me. Without him, my efforts would have been, well... shit... lol. So thanks to NSR Records!

I would also like to thank Hoodzie of Tryed & Tested, for who i mix the Ravers Addition series. Again, Hoodzie pushed me forward as well as himself, and his efforts have paid off and he is gaining more recognition by the minute and to me, this is well deserved!

To all my close mates in the scene ; Craig, JDM, Damaged,Periferal, Hoodzie, Gisbo, Sliktrax, Mansy, Chris Ross, Mike Modulate, Kim Louise... thanks for ace time guys! i'm sure these are times that will not be forgotten and i hope to stay in touch with you all!! ;o) [ sorry if i forgot anybody :o( ]

I should also mention the amazing talents i have worked with, and some i never got the chance to work with; MC Jay P, Kim Louise, Marie Louise, Deanne Hoyland, Freda Jalbuena. These guys are some of the top up and coming talent in the scene and they deserve the be the best! Good luck guys and girls! You will always have my support!

And one more, I would like to thank my amazing partner, Tracey for her continued support through my time in the scene. It was her vocals on the ever popular 'Final Flight' that really gave me a name, and not ONCE did she ever tell me i couldn't do it!

Thankyou all again, i hope you all get what you are looking for in life.

oh and one more thing..

Keep It Squeezy! ;o)
xx

Kel X-Cyte

I will, and i'm sure everyone else will be very sad to see him go. He's such a nice bloke and for me, one of the most inspiring producers in the scene. He was great to work with, and it's incredibly sad to see him go like this. I wish him all the best for the future, and hope that one day he just might change his mind.

Unfortunately this is true and I believe Kel (X-Cyte) was going to post the same announcement on here but has been beaten to it :p

Its a sad day for NSR to lose someone, who from my own experience (with hearing his productions and spending time in his studio) is massively talented and was ever improving. His contribution to NSR has been immense, I have listed his discography of NSR releases below but beyond that his re-designing of our website, and artwork for our CDs have also been of huge help along with countless other additions to the label.

This wont be the last you will hear of X-Cyte as we still have a number of his tracks here at NSR that are as of yet unreleased and Kel has said he is happy for those to be released. I have also listed these forthcoming tracks below.

I wish him all the best in the future as he is genuinely one of the nicest guys ive met and ever had the honour of working with. I have left him an open door policy so that if things ever change, he is welcome back to NSR, but yes as of now, expect no more productions from him apart from the lists below.

Current discography:
X-Cyte - Unexpected
X-Cyte - Final Flight (Bondy remix)
X-Cyte Ft Freda - Without You
X-Cyte - Refit Your Mind
X-Cyte Ft MC Stratton - Drives Me Insane
X-Cyte - Dance With Us
X-Cyte Ft Freda - Neverland
X-Cyte & Sliktrax - The Raver
X-Cyte - The Legend
X-Cyte - The Grouse

Unreleased/Forthcoming:
X-Cyte Ft Marie Louise - Safe and Sound
X-Cyte - Overdrive
X-Cyte - Unexpected (Nu Foundation & Hotchkiss Remix)
X-Cyte & Sliktrax - Angel
X-Cyte vs Chris Ross Ft Kim Louise - Look At Me
X-Cyte & Sliktrax Ft Randy Jeeves - Lie With Me
X-Cyte Ft MC Stratton - Drives Me Insane (Mansy Remix)

This for me is just another producer in a long line that should be greatly missed and its yet another sign that hardcore is becoming an increasingly dog-eat-dog scene where alot of producers have to leave due to either personal issues or issues with the scene.

Best of Luck
Craig @ NSR

Funnily enogh that's exactly what i said on HardcoreProducer (where X-Cyte posted it). Like Hardcore is the be all and end all.

This is being taken in the wrong context. X-Cyte has no desire to make any other genre of music other than hardcore, he does love producing hardcore and in the main has only positive things to say about the scene.

It should also be noted that X-Cyte is not leaving because he wants to, this is a decision that has upset him greatly as making music is the favourite hobby he has, however sometimes life deals you a crap hand that forces you to make decisions you may not like.

He would love to come back and start producing hardcore again but due to the 'personal problems' mentioned, he is not sure if this will be able to happen although he has made it clear to me that should the situation change, he will be back in a heartbeat as this is what he truly loves doing.

Samination - If someone says 'personal problems' I think it should be respected. X-Cyte cannot be accused of being in it for the money (as being the label owner I know how much he has made from it), it IS his hobby but he can no longer do it, so just respect that. He has never once said that he hates the music or dislikes the scene, in fact he did an interview on HP.org saying how vibrant he thinks the scene is and how there are a number of talented people coming through. He has reiterated that if he can return to making music, then he will. The 'hardcore' bit was added to point out, that even someone reletively new to the scene who is still up and coming, can be ill treated.

Revs is young, he hasn't really evolved his english skills yet. I'm just a douche bag.

And if you did read, I said I'd shut up (or remove my comment) if it really was a personal thing.
redwingz: Like I said, **** what people do. IF it's a hobby, it should stay as a hobby. To be honest he doesn't need to care what people in the scene says or does.

Okay, think for one second if the "personal problem" is that X-Cyte's mother fell ill and he wanted to spend her final days with her? Or he is having children and wants to spend time with them? Or he needs to start working 2 jobs to stay afloat and won't have time to produce? Or simply, he just doesn't feel the inspiration and thinks a fresh start in life could help him re-focus his mind?

You don't even know the situation so don't call him an attention seeker.

hello.... erm... who are you??? My personal problems are nothing to do with the outside world, therefore i have not disclosed them, so who are you to call me an attention seeker when you know nothing of why i am quitting?

my thanks to catliketheif and the rest for all your support, it is greatly appreciated, and as redwingz pointed out, this isnt somthing i am doing lightly. Its a forced decision and I hope to rectify the problem as soon as I can :)
