I want us all to talk about Hardcore. Not argue. Nothing qwrong with banter but these days everyone is slagging off the new stuff and I see no one supporting it. I am not in favor of the new stuff but im sure there are fans of the new stuff & they shouldn't be afraid to come forward.
Sopport your scene I say. I support the 90s scene (hence why i mix old skool & make 90s sounding tunes) and think everyone else should do the same.
No hating please
Peace

Although all of my cds are oldschool I do have a fond love for the modern hardcore. and I must say that I prefer it over oldschool. To me modern is catcher then oldschool, but I do love the DnB they trow into oldschool
Modern>oldschool

this is a stupid thread.
its not a case of like/dont like, there is good music, there is bad music.
there is good old skool happy, there is awful old skool happy
there is good nu skool stuff, theres shit nu skool stuff - sometimes the bad outweighs the good, but that doesnt mean everythings gone to pot.

thank you Hitler for your permission but I quite like the 90s hardcore (mid to late 90s) without anyone's approval.
I like both the modern and the 90s hardcore, but i listen to more of the modern because it's more readily available to listen to. Although I will say that i've recently been focusing on trying to purchase older hardcore in digital format. I've managed to get lucky but some labels, such as Rave N' Beats, are nowhere to be found for digital purchase.

I like hardcore from 91 through to present day.
Some is good, some is bad. Some isn't to my taste.
People ruling out everything produced after a certain year aren't going to be persuaded even if the best music ever is floating around so *shrugs*

I prefer modern hardcore to older hardcore, I still love the old stuff though, maybe if I was old enough to go to raves [I was born in 91] and listened to it whilst I was growing up then maybe I'd have more love for it and maybe I'd prefer it more.
It seems like the older people here like old school and the majority of the younger people prefer present hardcore.
It's all down to personal taste though.

Well yeah of course, just like your parent(s) will be into 60's/70's/80's stuff. They all swear that the stuff that was around when they were young is the best. It's the same for every generation. Smoogie, you are no exception. When you realise this you can stop stressing over why no one in the later generation of people 'realise' how good the music you listened to was/is.

I love music of all ages, so the same goes for hardcore. Rave breaks of the early 90s were great, the younger and faster happy hardcore was great, and there has been made much incredible hardcore since the decline around 99-00. As far as I'm concerned, it's still being made.

I love what Hardcore brings us these days. I follow the work of many active artists fervently, and as a DJ I try and showcase to the public as much new material as possible. For an idea of what I push forward in raves, see my latest demo mix: http://soundcloud.com/matricks/dj-matricks-mayhem-in-dreamland

Unfortunately, people mostly speak up when what they have to say is negative and they need to complain about something. When people are content and everything goes as they think it should, they rarely feel the need to go on & on about it on internet boards.

I love the old skool HHC better than today's stuff, BUT, I still love today's stuff...well, most of it at least.
