i managed to get over my hatred for iTunes and downloaded the program. Found some things in the store that i'm willing to buy, but I am unsure of the quality of the tracks.
Will the tracks be available to purchase in 320kbps, or are they all 192? and if you download the whole album, will it only be available in mp4 format? Last time i had iTunes (3 years ago and wasn't longer than a month) i couldn't find any quality higher than 192 and when i did d/l a whole album the only option it gave me was mp4. please let me kno if you have any info. thanks

all the tracks on itunes are 320kbps
all for 0.99
and it's all mp3 now, aac has been stopped, like drm
when you have bought your mp3, you can do what you want with. burn it, play it, drag it on ipod etc...
itunes is really great, the only thing you have to be careful is for the compilations. tracks won't be unmixed

I wondered if AATW might of considered putting up bonkers 1 to 17 & best of bonkers.
but no.
I guess when some northan swine in a tie heard volumes 1 and 2, he probably thought he put a thunderdome cd in by accident. just too hardcore for that clubland shit.

The best Hardcore years was when everyone went Dutch mad. Bonkser 1 & 2 are ace! I wish they had more Dutch tunes on them though. The only tunes on Bonkers 1 was Hold me now & like a dream. Hold me now (which wasn't the Bass D & Kiong Mathew version I don't think) is one of the greatest Dutch tunes I have ever heard!

In my opinion the hardcore on Itunes is all crap. But then again I hate downloading music.

Buying Hardcore from iTunes is the worst idea if you're trying to support the artists, especially if it's available for sale elsewhere.

You could buy all of bonkers on Amazon's download store, not sure if it is still there, AATW might have pulled it.

you know you're probably right, but...
99 US cents vs 99 British pence. what do you think?
and i still will buy tracks from junodownload, trackitdown, and hardbeatsdownloads because not everything i want will be available on iTunes. nor would i want it to be. I just want to currently get as much for my $$$ as i can right now since I'm not earning as much as I would hope for.
also, some artists, such as Kevin Energy, encourage the purchase of their digital products on iTunes. I bought my copy of Hardcore Energy on hardbeats simply because i didn't want to wait 3 more days to get it.

Sure it's cheaper to buy tracks from iTunes but it comes down to where you want your money to go, really.
I don't know why hardcore artists, especially those not backed by huge labels, would want to encourage buying through iTunes when they can sell digital downloads themselves and keep 100% of the profit. Even if they don't want to do that, trackitdown and sites like that are at least a better option than iTunes.

You'll have to ask Kevin Energy & CLSM yourself for that answer. They made their albums Hardcore Revolution & Hardcore Energy available at other site such as trackitdown & junodownload but encouraged iTunes purchases as well. I think it had something to do with broadening the range of audience?

Yeah, the only real reason would be to reach out to the people who use iTunes, although I don't think it's necessary (or a good idea) when there's other options available. Apple takes huge cuts from sales (more often more than expected) on artists' music, which they could sell independently (or at least not on iTunes or Amazon) and keep all the earnings (because that's who deserves them, the artist! Not Apple). I mean, if iTunes works for Kevin Energy and CLSM, that's their decision, it's cool. I'm just saying there's the potential to be making a lot more (not to mention, it's more of a personal transaction) if they didn't sell through a huge corporate third party.
