This... explains a lot.

A whole lot.

What about the second part of the question - how comes?

Not necessarily disagreeing, just curious to why you think that.

he claims to have passion for hardcore, yet he mocks its image through terrible music. He pushes the names that are tied in with AATW, another example of AATW servants slyly promoting their own franchise.

He's enticed into pussy styles of music and being the hardcore 'pretty boy' of AATW by money, and I dont have any respect for him while he conforms to all this shit.

That freeform track he did was good tho. First decent trak in about 5 years

People like Breeze and Re-Con are far away from being mainstream, even the most mainstream Hardcore still isn't mainstream. Everyone has his own opinions on their tracks, I personally don't really like them (not at all to be exact), but I still think Darren Styles is trying to get more attention and become more popular just to make the Hardcore genre more popular; once it has won enough attention, he will make more underground-sounding stuff again, like the 2 tracks that we recently heard. I said that already like 50 billion times but nobody seems to get it.

I could see that.

Also, acid... you can't really be THAT surprised that people under the same label like each other's music. Record labels scout artists with similar sounds, and as a result that label has its own sound derived from the similar artists. Not to mention the fact that I'm positive he spends a very good amount of time with them, more so than artists he has no affiliation with that you apparently would have preferred he name out of the blue.

ok so i found this and i agree 'Skydivin' the tune was really good a truly uplifting song but after that any tunes he has released and sang on himself all sound the same. They are so predictable.

Compared to what though? Plus you can only truly comment on the scene in Austria.

Well, compared to the real mainstream genres, stuff like RnB, Pop, Hip-Hop and the stuff they call 'House' that absolutely doesn't sound like House at all to me but just like a pile of crap (and that's what actually tarnished it's beautiful name and image). Of course there's also some good/non-commercial RnB and Hip-Hop, but everything that is in this genre usually gains more popularity. Yeah I know that in the UK HHC ain't unknown, but the UK isn't the middle of the world, it's just like 1% and there's many other countries that are way more populated.

And I don't need to visit each country in the world to observe it's Hardcore scene, most of the time there won't be anything to see anyway, and we know that Hardcore is unknown, no matter where on earth :) Maybe in another galaxy hehe

But most people in most countries think of Death Metal/Hardcore Rock when they hear the word 'Hardcore', not of Happy Hardcore. And if not they think of Porn in second place.

Musically it's incredibly different, but the fundamentals have stayed the same. In my opinion 20 years on it still has the same vibe

What kind of hypocrite bullsh*t is that? He gives props to his crew, the HTID/Raver Baby crew, what's wrong with that? Like we don't see the Hardcore Underground buddies giving props to each other?

^ agreed. 20 years ago, that was 1990. Vibe has totally changed as has the music, there's no breakbeat for a start, the tempo has changed, the way it's produced has changed. Everything has changed. The fundamentals are not the same at all! For a start it used to be happy, but we've lost that too, sad times.

Someone on these forums once said that hardcore has lost it's rave roots and this is so true and the reason why the vibe HAS changed. Has it changed in a good or a bad way? Well, I'm not going to go into that! But you can make up your own minds!

Darrens just doin his thing and getting paid for it, who gives a ____ if he's doin 'this' and doin 'that' to the scene TBH hes not doin f*ck all but making music and selling it, at the end of the day you've either 'got it' or you've not 'got it'.

But the one thing i can see thats the problem with the scene today even though this is coming from a complete outsiders perspective, is that its hard to get to the 'Top Tier' level without having to sound similar to the other 'Top Tier' producers, which is why if you dont want to sound like them and still want to be classed as 'Happy Hardcore/UK Hardcore' whatever, you bacially need to do what Hixxy done and start ur own events which in turn will create ur audience.

Just my humble perspective
