more than likely got to do with .net... As .com is more of a world domain

Actually .net is the "world domain" (it's the whole NET) whereas .com was originally made for commercial purposes.

Most artists have very little time for this sort of thing. As far as I can tell, we all just search our names, or our labels, to check what's going on. It sounds like its ego, and probably is a little bit, but when you run a business you have to be aware of what is being said about it, so its healthy to check websites etc for the current opinions and how things are being received (or not).
I rarely have time to get involved with outside discussions, and sometimes when I do, I cant be bothered because its old ground covered again and again. Many ravers pass through these boards in a space of 2 or 3 years, but I have been doing this since 1992, so I don't feel like talking about the benefits of CDs vs Vinyl again and again.
ANother reason this board is quieter is that all boards are quieter than they were. People use Facebook and Soundcloud and Twitter, or their own blog or website - forums are kinda dated nowadays.
I find it all a bit boring to be honest. MySpace is just everyone advertising at each other, Facebook is basically spying on you (hence me not being on it), and Twitter is pure ego. And I dont understand Dont Stay In at all lol. So I speak publicly on my blog, mostly.
USH has, as far as I am aware, always been the central forum for hardcore. There is no real reason for it, the same way there is no real reason for Dogs On Acid to be the D'n'B place to go. Its just how things end up. So its natural for the big names to go there to make comments, as it will probably spread through the rest of the forums, if it is important enough.
It does help that USH is in the UK tho, because of the time difference. Conversations start earlier, and when the site started, the UK rave scene was bigger and more coherent. It may still be like that, hence it still being busier than most. But USH is a lot less busy than it was a few years back.
Well I guess I can only agree with all of what you said there
