I just wondered because I havn't heard much (except the commercial crud) for the last few years. Other than the so called 'top guns' (Darren Styles, Breeze, Hixxy, Sy & Unknown, Squad E & the MCs Storm & Whizzkid) who still makes real Hardcore? Is Scott Brown still around?
When I get back home (im away in Brighton at the moment) I will get bavck to making my tunes which will be real Hardcore with hard kicks!
So... Do they still make Hardcore?

I'm wondering if Vagabond still makes Hardcore! I'm a huge fan of him, but there's no way to contact him: He has no Facebook, no Website, and his MySpace Account has been deleted, no idea why! Brisk says he doesn't like public contact (You know, like when you have 5,000 people on Facebook and everyone comments on your stuff and you get thousands of notifications, etc) and since I need some Vocals from one of his tracks MC Casper will ask him next time he talks to him, and we'll get the answer :-)
Like some people on here already said, I think the current "Brisk & Vagabond" is just Brisk using Vagabond's presets.

VAGABOND Feat. Tais & Wotsee - Love Can Be Real (HU3)
Doubt that's Brisk. :p
As for Smoogie, no comment. How about you get into the loop by checking out HU3, HU4, COH5?

Hardcore is still being made, but the outlet is getting weaker for original artists. I believe that Breeze, Squad-E, Re-Con, & Styles have lost all touch with why they became artists in the 1st place. I wonder what they would do if they actually had to make a living off original work instead of remixing every chart hit, or making a trance track and re-editing it to a Hardcore track. I still have big respect for Brisk, Ham, Al Storm, Dougal, Sy, Unknown, and Scott Brown because they have stuck with the genre since pretty much it's beginning. Quosh, Evolutin, & Next Generation are about to hit the big 100 for releases. Joey Riot has gone down the toilet for me. His happier vocal tracks were so much better than the recycled sound he keeps churning out. Gammer was going pretty strong for a while too, but he, along with Dougal, are making watered down tracks and focusing on remixing chart hits as well, but Dougal, along with Hixxy, still have a place in my heart for their accomplishments. Darwin is awesome, and it's a hit or miss with S3RL.

well next gen can almost b considered passing the 100 mark since blatant beats is pretty much a 2nd outlet for the abundance of tracks that next gen couldn't handle at 1 time
and as far as s3rl goes, i don't dislike the quality of his tracks, but they have just become too predictable.

Mr. Brown is still around, but the quality of his tracks have tanked as of late. :(
@Warped Candykid: Gammer is amazing on his own though.

Clearing his preset banks for a start would do him wonders.

Perfect, perfectly described. Especially agree with the Joey Riot comments. He had a track on Hardcore Nation 2009 that I really liked called Feel Complete. Doesn't look like it's been released yet, unfortunately - but that's the kind of happier vocal stuff that you're referring to. Cool track.
As for the rest of the guys listed there, I can't remember the last time I did a search on a site to buy any of their tracks. I'm just looking over a playlist that I made on my iPod on the way to work this morning for a mix I'm going to record tonight, and it's got names like Eufion, Petruccio, Entity, Darwin, X-Cyte, Hyperforce, Auscore, Sc@r, Paul Manx - these are the kinds of artists I consider to be producing good hardcore today. Very good, in fact.

I don't know if any artist we know could actually make a living out of selling their original Hardcore material. It seems to me the only way of making a living in the genre is a successful DJ/Promoter career. It's true that these guys are big sell-outs on the bootleg side, but then again what Hardcore artist doesn't do bootleg? Of course these guys are paid by the biggest dance music company to remix the biggest hits, and it's all just a big money making thing, BUT it's not 100% of what they do! I still love their original material. Here are some of those original tracks that came out in the last 6 months or so.
Re-Con & Demand - Like A Rainbow
Re-Con & Unknown - Surrender
Re-Con & Marc Smith - Stomp
Re-Con - Fuel To Fire
Re-Con - Without Doubt
Squad-E & Whizzkid - Bring It On
Squad-E & Enemy - Twista Anthem
Darren Styles & Manian - Outta My Head
Darren Styles & Chris Unknown feat. Molly - Shining Star
Darren Styles - Do You Feel The Same
Breeze vs. UFO & Lost Witness - Love To The Stars
Breeze vs. Unique - Reach Out

I have Vagabonds email address :p
But no, afaik he does not make hardcore anymore for various reasons.
Massively talented guy though. Chris Ross of NSR went in the studio with him for a day in December....learnt ALOT, such a knowledgeable bloke and one of the few who like their hardcore....harder

Can't we ban this clown? Every thread the sad git comes along with the same tired line? TBH it's depressing me!
Dude, either find something new to listen to (Katy Perry is alright) or TRY some of the new stuff. Hardcore Addiction 3 is a brilliant example of the top level tunage being banged out just now.
Either way, if you have nothing constructive to add to a post don't bloody bother!
