I like most Brisk & Vaggabond tracks from around 2003-2005. It was real Hardcore with hard kicks. None of that poxxy Clubland stuff (I don't class Clubalnd and Hardcore)
I also like your older stuff such as your remix of DJ Breeze - Jump a little higher. Your remix is one of the best I have ever heard yet isn't as well known as the original.

I feel that Hardcore was going ok until about 2005 when all of a sudden all everyone wanted to do was make watered down Clubland style Hardcore instead of the more innovative style that had been popular before. Take a listen to Bonkers 8-15, they had some good tunes on them, especially Sharkey's mixes & I feel that if Clubland Extream Hardcore never toke over then I belive the 2000s would have seen so much batter and harder tunes! Its like the saying goes, it's not that Hardcore has evoloved, it was what it evoloved into, not everyone agress with the Clubland/ Raverbaby crud & alot of good tunes where underplayed & a lot of good artists where ignored for the 'top guns' who just wanted to make money.

Until you listen to HU2+3+4 and COH4+5, Smoogie, please don't type another word how hardcore's been "clublandized"... Just don't.

I haven't either.. none of them actually. I checked out some of the tunes individually, but I wasn't really interested, so no reason to purchase it.

I heard the clips and saw the advert on TV. I made up my mind instantly. I know real Hardcore when I hear it & I didn't on the Clubland CDs. Sorry.

Yeah but it's the same cheesy kind of beat.. and I gotta agree with him on that point
I also miss the hard kicks! But Smoogie, you should check out stuff by CLSM and Cube::Hard! It's actually everything new I listen to! And Darwin when it comes to Breakbeat Hardcore ofc :)

You two can't say that unless you've heard the full albums. I mean, the closest they'll get to Clubland might be CD1 on HU4 but that's pretty much reaching for it. I respect you, Revs, but don't go telling your opinion based off a few clips. ;)
And Smoogie... COH = Crush On Hardcore, not Clubland X-Treme Hardcore.

Yeah I know dude, but I mean all new tunes basically have a cheesy kick. They sound so "flat". Show me a track with a good kick!
You should know that most of the UK Hardcore stuff I listen to has a half-distorted kickdrum :P

Check out ReBuild Music or FINRG, or Next Gen/Blatant Beats.
