My favourite Darwin track is Flaming June (Darwin Remix) - BT
Not sure whether that was made "back in the day" or not because I've only been into hardcore for about a year but it's a pretty cool tune.

Yeah I like this tune but it's cheesy :P
No it's pretty recent, I remember it was free.

Check out JAL's catalogue if you're not familiar with his earlier stuff. I think he has improved! Some of those older tracks are great, of course, but I think those of recent years are generally better - both production-wise and music-wise. :)
Like A Dream is wicked, and so is Flaming June but that one is quite recent I think!

Yeah I mean I like the new ones but they're just too "flat"/cheesy!
THanks for the link, I'm checking it out right now :)

Sun Always Shines is awesome! Or Shining Light!
Quicksilver -> Thanks for the link, some really cool cool tunes, never heard them before :)
Well I would say his older tunes were harder and his newer ones are more freeformish!

Omg, the irony of this thread
As for the topic: no, Darwin is better than ever. One of the best producers in hardcore. Definitely one of the most interesting musically - up there with stargazer and Euphony.

I should also point out that those tracks aren't old at all. I guess "back in the day" means 2007-2008 to you?!

Don't you not prefer the original? Was an absolute classic when it came out, i can still remember but was quite young at the time.

wow you pretty are childish if you can't take some simple sarcasm. i think what annoys you the most is that most if not every1 who has responded is not agreeing with you.
for me his old and new stuff are both amazing. with darwin he generally has mostly good tracks, maybe a handful weren't to my liking. but as for quality he is getting better and being more creative as time goes by.

Are you kidding me? Darwin is still my favorite producer at the moment. He's like a resurrection of Helix and Fade combined... the sheer creativity and flexibility of both!

What's wrong with calling somebody by another alias of theirs? Well, unless the alias in question sounds something like "Sugar Shacker" that they only got called back the 80's and secretely never wanted to be called that again as they died a little inside every time.

I didn't say he was bad, I said I prefer his older stuff! (Except Breakbeat Hardcore) New tracks sound too "flat" imo, especially those from Al Storm, Orbit1, Lumin8, Inverse and.. well, Darwin (sometimes).

Revs: I'm well aware of all of these peoples' aliases. I wasn't being mean, I was being serious. I can't understand how 2007-2008 productions are "back in the day". We are in 2010.
Hard2Get: I too love the earlier RFU releases of 'Higher Forever'. Breeze and Styles remix was epic even if it sounds dated now.

The title of this thread put an amused smile on my face :P
I think that the oldest Darwin track I know is Take A Ride, and Gammer's remix makes it completely useless to even flip that record over and damage your needle on the original's side.
Apart from that, I'm not exactly familiar with Darwin's earlier works. I love Every Day and Love Isn't Easy, but those two songs aren't exactly some of his first either.
Oh and about Higher, Forever, are we discussing the track by Contraption a.k.a. Joost Boonekamp here? If so, what would that have to do with Darwin?
