Scott Brown doesn't need Bonkers. The direction is horrid and something Brown avoids.
bonkers needs scott brown, and thats what this thread is about..
I thought the thread was about improving bonkers not "bonkers needs scott brown" scott brown has distanced himself from ukcore and mainly plays abroad, hasnt been producin much either...

What i'd do is i'd scrap both Hixxy & Sharkey. Never thought I would say that but hardcore needs to change (and evolve). It's not as easy as that, but i'd use this format or something similar
CD 1: Up coming talent (S3rl, Jakazid, Orbit 1)
CD 2: Old skool classics (something different which many Bonkers fan wont have heard, like Thunderdome or Ruff neck classics)
CD3: Brand spanking new UK hardcore that will appeal to the masses (Sy, Scott Brown, Gammer)

I'd take an interest if Scott Brown returned. I can't see it though. I'd have kept the same lineup from 17 for this one if I'm honest. Sadly, that isn't what sells in the minds of AATW.
As far as I'm concerned, they should kill Bonkers off. It's not fit for the purpose any more. The next one is vital. I may be swayed if it looks decent, but if it's effectively CLXH re-branded, then bin it.

sadly all the hoping in the world wont change the way aatw is gonna market & use the bonkers name, but lets be honest... it's not bonkers anymore... its trying to be.
they will use it to push their signed artists through remixes, as they have already proved
hate to say this, as im a die hard bonkers fan, but bonkers has officially become commercial
underground labels have always been the way forward if you want to listen to some awesome hardcore

Disc one: S3rl and Scott Brown (hm? could be good)
Disc two: Sharkey and Gammer (eh? eh?)
Disc three: Sy and Unknown
not bad?
yea that is pretty bad
i don't see scott brown very willingly to throw down a set with S3RL
and Sharkey and Gammer? that is just as random as Scott Brown & S3RL
i'm all for throwing a little something different into the mix, but we should also be realistic.
now i've mentioned this before in another forum. there is enough talent in Australia to come out with their own bonkers-like album. maybe they should band together and make it happen. because I feel that in the near future we will be seeing a reaction of DJs to willingly put out more albums to mend the wounds that this latest shitty bonkers album has created for the hardcore scene

If the Djs cared about the album, and want it to succeed, they should join up like this.
If not, i think its just for the money.

Bonkers is just fine the way it is. A good showcase of Hixxy, Sharkey, and friends and what they feel like putting on a CD.

I think they should do a Bonkers mega box pack.
That could be interesting! I'd buy it for sure, I don't have most of them.
Of the older ones? most definitely i would like that as well.
Since AATW owns the name Bonkers, do they have to go through other channels to obtain permission to re-release the older ones?
And Bonkers-4-life it has nothing to do bout whether or not the djs care about bonkers, it really is up to AATW if it would allow djs such as S3RL, Gammer, and Scott Brown to be included in the album.
And then if they are, you know that the majority of the tracks on the albums will be AATW releases, and so that defeats the purpose of even there being a chance of a nice variety on the next bonkers. and one could argue that if a dj like scott brown gives in and spins these AATW tracks, he could be considered selling out and only doing it for the money

That for cd1 is the way forward my friend, way too good for aatw tho
That would be good. But come on....you are dreaming. That would never, ever happen. S3rl, orbit1 and Inverse are all great but none of them will ever mix a bonkers album.
Bonkers is owned by AATW now, they dont want new upcomers mixing the albums, they are going to be going for the big names, the people who have been big names for a long time.
Expect the next bonkers to look like this:
CD1 Sharkey
CD2 'Winner of best DJ at HH awards 2009'
CD3 Hixxy

to improve bonkers,
Number 1,
ya need to bring back the funy cartoons for starters thats the NUMBER ONE iconic thing abot bonkers it catches the eye, know ATTW are "CGI-ing" The artwork its just gunna blend in with the rest of the crap on the shelf...
Number 2,
More variety again this is one of the best things bonkers does its not 3 discs of the same stuff, its mixxed and varied to suit practically everyone.
Number 3,
Get back "old skool" bonkers djs i mean like dougal and sy etc etc i dont mean old skool as in 96 style..
Number 4,
AATW need to but out and let the djs do their own thing, i know sharkey has defended his descion to use scooter but cummon who here doesnt belive that aatw influenced that descion?!..
well their we go thats my rant over....as far as i can see the only good thing AATW has done with bonkers its getting out and seen more, and this in turn is also a bad descion because know all the pikey bastard chav clubland yobs will be buying it, and dragging it to asbo hell!!
leaving the true hardcore pioneers embaressed to pick up a copy in the shop..(i personally feel very dirty everytime i pick up a clubland hardcore CD even though i bought all 5 lmao))
Anyway rant over LMFAO sorry if i went on a bit hee he hee
