Acutally, little known fact, Gunther never sings. His mustache does all the singing, he just moves his mouth.

I'm ok with male vocals and I like a wide variety of them.

To me, it has much more to do with the song itself than the vocalist. Some of the lyrics are odd, and that puts me off moreso than the voice of the singer.

The thing with Styles' Feel Love is that half of it seems sung and half spoken. That throws a lot of people off.

i like both male & female vocals as long as it doesn't have autotune on them, and prety much all tunes after 2000ish had autotune, it loses its edge imo.

Oh hey Jackol.

I still think Male vocals are "gay" when it comes to Happy Hardcore.

Like many in this thread have said Re-Con has some real talent and Styles is hit or miss.

Feel Love would have been better w/o his voice.

S3RL.. well you already know my opinion on him. It's not very high whatsoever.

Agree with some people on no vocals at all. But isn't that why there's freeform?

Female vocals are always better than Male. If some guy is singing about love it better be good.

Sharkey is a DJ/MC not a singer.

Storm isn't the same guy he used to be see Smooth Operator vs Aint Seen Nothing Yet. And Whizzkid seems to be coming up with some good vocals. MC Marley is great and should do more tracks.

Did we all forget Bang!, Triple J, Kelly, Lisa Abott, Bluemchen, Dune, and the hardcore of the late 90s already?

C'mon people. Sort yaselves out.

no one needs sorting here we are all fine.

and those artists that you named, with the exception of lisa abbott and Bang!, have long been gone and the tunes you are refering to were done during the years when you had hhc anthems. very few tracks out there, although still amazing, don't stick to our heads as much as those classics have, regardless of vocals.

and I still love the old stuff and listen to it every now and then, but i'm not about to be an ignorant twat like 95 just stick listening to the old stuff. so i welcome the vocals no matter how crappy they are so long as they dont think they're good enough to sing live when in actuality they sound like mules in heat

Heard it.. 3.5/5

Wicked MC was a better track.

The point I was trying to make was he's good at DJing and MCing.

Really now? there are plenty of anthems to be had. Are you kidding?

All off the top of my head:

Lost Without You
Angels
Silver Water
My Direction
You're Shining
All I wanna Do
Night Life
Promised Land
Lovesick Crazy
Power of Love
Piece of Heaven
More and More
etc. etc. etc.

They might not stick out in your head if you've listened to late 90's HHC and got really into it but they definitely stick out today in people that don't know the older stuff's heads.

Does this statement even make sense?

I went through my late 90's HHC phase (Thanks Eurolove 2007) and have come to accept it's dead. BUT, like I said very few males can actually pull original HHC vocals off. Re-Con being the only person right now IMO. Let's just hope Squad-E doesn't start singing now.

I feel your pain dude. I'm an MC & even I think they overdo it. It's becoming a boring generic sound now. When I get in the studio it's something I plan to change.

I think male vocals work better for some tracks and female vocals work better for other tracks. Really just depends. My best friend is a male vocalist that I use for my tracks pretty frequently, and I usually take that into consideration when writing a track.

Otherwise if it doesn't fit, I'll just play around with it and turn his voice into a female one... Kinda like mind.in.a.box

Because sometimes it's just really fun to take a track and head the opposite direction you were originally planning.
