yes it is! we are a nation of moaners but we don't do anything about it! we pay the highest taxes in the world! every other european country doesn't take the sh*te that we do! we take all the refugees in and they get all the benefits, but when we need something, we get f**k all. we pay our taxes like everyone else, Im not racist or religious at all, but it seems that its in their favour at the moment, our soldiers are fighting in countries that we have no connection with apart from to oil business

hey john howard is making the laws the same over here. he has just made a new law that any worker no matter age, sex or permnement can be fired for what ever reason and at anytime. so alot of workers have lost there jobs and these emplyers or hiring 16 year olds because they are on cheaper wage and giving our job to refugees etc. our taxes are high and petrol is high. so for its now $1.45 to $1.50 per litre and expected to hit $2.00 a litre at the end of the yeah.
so our goverment if f***ed!!!

In the uk we dont pay the highest taxes in the world or even Europe. (excluding NI contributions because it might aswell be a tax so would have included it but a quick google couldnt turn up any comparison).
Our petrol prices are about
£1 per litre atm thats about $2.45(Aus) or $1.88(US). Even so there are counties with higher prices(as at 9/05)

iluvhardcor.... in response to your post our situation is pretty damn good here. Everyone is paying a lot for fuel all over the world not just us, we have a good economic status etc... etc...
I dont feel as though we are being hard done by as a country at all, and I think we are pretty fortunate on the world scale of things.

Due to the fact I do economics at degree level I thought I should write something
You say we pay the highest taxes in the world, but that statement is false I'm sure. We may pay more on petrol duty than most countries but you forget our welfare system, tax credits and such the like s To all Americans who moan about thier petrol being 1.5 dollars, ours has been near the 2 dollar mark for a while now, so thats why we drive smaller engined cars, and you should do the same if petrol prices increase largely over there.
Recently it has been stated that all this influx of immigrants is BENEFICIAL to the economy and not a drain, in that there is a net income from their work over benefits.
Our living standards are high in comparison to other similar countries, and we are still one of the biggest military and economic players, which I think is amazing due to our size and population.
OK I admit our society does seem to be spiralling out of control, especially with todays youth culture of ASBOs blah blah. Personally, as old fashioned as this sounds, I want to reintroduce capital and corporal punishment, and national service because todays youth need a good headkicking and paedos, murderers etc need to be killed (its cheaper than keeping them in prisons anyway, and a good deterrent)

Our country is not f**ked up, its just gradually going down the pan. I'm sick of paying my taxes for lazy bums on the dole.

The Uk could be worse as we don't have Hurricanes, famine or poverty. Maybe a few chavs and some bad crime rates but over all it could be a lot worse!
