Nobody actually knows how old he is. Due to being born in Africa without registered births.

Adriano was poor as well. Although he looked better when he was playing as the main striker rather than the support. The whole team was poor except a few players. They really need to improve or they will be out by the 1/4 finals.

Unless Spain turn out to be amazing later today, there's no need for England to fear anybody.

Germany looked decent but still conceded 2 against an ordinary Costa Rica
Same with Argentina - Ivory coast pushed them all the way.
France - Awful!
Brazil - oops! Croatia are a decent side and they deservced something from the game.
Portugal, Czech republic & Italy looked useful though.

The next round of group games will tell us a lot more.

Yeah i agree, Portugal looked the most dangerous to me. I think they will beat us if we face them in the quarter-finals, just like they did in Euro 2004.

Granted, but the others are better than he is.

He SHOULD do well in that role, but he's not up to the task if you ask me. He's a 20 minute player at best, and there's no way i'd put him in a team that is battling to get a result.

The success at Bayern has flattered him, true he's looked good for them but it hasn't carried over to England. Yes, others have been poor too but he's never performed that well for us.

He hasn't had chance to prove himself for England, if Gerrard has a bad day no-one doubts his place in the team because they see him day in day out in the Premiership.

That's whats wrong with England fans, as soon as a player isn't playing in England and they don't see them perform all the time they start to question wether they should be in the squad, Beckham has been the best player for Real Madrid and he is invaluable to England imo, the way he crosses etc, and there are still idiot who say he shouldn't be in the squad...

told you brazil wont get past the quarter finals this year, freddy adu was 15 at beginning of 2005 so i dont know his age now.

Walked past bookies today and it was 10-1 on tunisia beating saudi arabia, i dont know much about betting but that would be to good to refuse if i was 18!

Michael Carrick anyone?

Hargreaves does annoy me, not only does he repeatdly play poorly I think sooner or later he will cost us a game, he gives away an enormous amount of fouls around our penalty box.

Yep.

Oh shit!

Germany looking a bit ominous too - missed a load of chances but performing well.

You think so?

The Germans lack a spark from somewhere in their team. I still think their defence looks poor. The only problem with Germany is that they're the home nation and that can count for a lot, making players raise their game etc.

The score was big, but I don't think they were that great, apart from the last goal (which was very good, although Ukraine were down to 10men by then) the other goals all had a large hint of luck in them (Ukraine not helped by dodgy penalty/red card decision and unlucky deflections). Ukraine were also away past the last defender 3 times (2 of these times it was Andriy Shevchenko - I'm sure he wouldn't miss 2 one on ones!) but were given offside when they clearly weren't!

I fear Ecuador more than Spain at the moment......

Because chances are we'll play them long before we play Spain!

Brazil striker Ronaldo visited a clinic on Wednesday complaining of dizziness and headaches - but is expecting to train as normal on Thursday.
The Brazilian football association (CBF) said the 29-year-old underwent a medical check-up during the visit.

The CBF website said: "No abnormality was found. Ronaldo is, therefore, in normal condition for training."

Ronaldo was criticised for his display in Brazil's 1-0 victory over Croatia in their World Cup game on Tuesday.

He was ineffectual against the Croats and was jeered as he was replaced by Robinho after 69 minutes.

"Ronaldo is fine, he just fell a bit dizzy - nothing serious," said CBF spokesman Rodrigo Paiva.

"He was taken to the clinic for tests and everything was OK."
