USA didn't look too great, I know Ghana lost but they looked alright - they gave Italy a gun run for their money.

I think the only problem with the USA players is too many of them don't play at the top level domestically. Also why didn't you take Freddy Adu to the world cup?!

I think Brazil were average tonight! and France were no shakes either(but thats because they were playing my dark horse) but the best thing of the world cup so far are the fans at every game! loads of feel good factor coming from this world cup at the mo!

Could be wide open this year, nobody really standing out yet.

As soon as the last of the teams have played tomorrow, we'll be able to start separating the men from the boys.

Henry look like a completley different person, he look nervous to me. I don't even know why Ronaldo was on the pitch for Brazil, he looked like he couldn't be bothered with the game at all... :s

freddy adu is only 16 i think

does anyone have a clue why england fans feel the need to boo hargreaves i think its ****** disgusting, its our first game of the world cup, we make a substitution and the guy gets boo'ed, he is a brilliant player for bayern munich and plays midfield/sweeper role week in week out for germany's top team and we call him shit, he doesnt even play bad, you cant expect to much from the guy when you get that **** making him play right back, which is probably why he gets boo'ed, he turns up, plays completely out of position, has a bad game then goes back to germany for 3 months without most people seeing him play for munich

there might have been a time when his club form was enough to warrant him a place in the England squad, but he's shown time and time again that when it comes to the national side he's just a lightweight.

Not good enough, simple as.

As Ian wright said "He must have something on Sven to keep getting picked"!!

he's won more medals than anyone else on that team, he's one of only two or three players who can play that holding role without cockin up the rest of the team

Its been on news that there will be no more showing England games on the big BBC screen in Exchange Square, Manchester because last Saturday, some hooligans were throwing beer cans into the crowd of people who were watching the game, with no regard for the safety of adults or the children who happened to be there!
Around 13/14 people were arrested, so now innocent people have lost out to come and enjoy and watch the game because of some mindless people!

Am abit annoyed with ITV, as i miss out on watching mi Emmerdale at 7pm as they have decided to give it a later slot of 10pm!
Am in bed by that time

Granted, but the others are better than he is.

He SHOULD do well in that role, but he's not up to the task if you ask me. He's a 20 minute player at best, and there's no way i'd put him in a team that is battling to get a result.

The success at Bayern has flattered him, true he's looked good for them but it hasn't carried over to England. Yes, others have been poor too but he's never performed that well for us.
