A vinyl of a live recording at a rave... LOL why in the hell would you want that? Anyways you can't have CD's etc as the tracks on the recordings aren't licensed and as the quality would be greatly improved and it's on a more desirable format record companies will more than likely take legal action (as they did when Slammin Vinyl tried it). The record companies and the producers would stand to lose a lot of money so I think they're well within their right to stop it from happening.

I've always wondered that too, in that why can't you buy a CD of the event, but your reply answers my question. Thing is in ten years time geting hold of a tape player will be pretty damn hard

I assume they don't bother as it can't be played in a standard CD player so it's no threat to sales... Also at least one big label certainly wont be sueing HTID :P I'm sure if other labels wanted to they could sue them without a problem.

Yep it will indeed. Best keep our current ones in good condition if we want to be playing our tape packs in 10 years time. I guess eventually they'll have to stop doing them all together or fork out the licensing fees. On that note there is going to be no tape pack for the last Uproar so maybe that's an idea of what's to come...

drum n bass events do cd packs my mates got a few, but aye hardcore producers werent happy about it.

fair enough really, a lot of people like mc's and wouldnt buy the tunes without if they could buy the live sets.

doubt it would be worthwhile for them to liscense all the tracks tbh, not sure theres that much money in the tapes trade?

I have a tapepacks and yes you still can buy them!
Spin In Manchester sell them!
Try cash generator/convertor too! people sometimes trade in old tape packs and dvd's of hardcore as well!
you just have to have a look on internet and try e-bay as well!
You could also look in your local Loot paper under music for sale!

not sure but i think they would need written permission from every artist on the whole pack to use there tracks then, think of how difficult that would be. If one artist on a set objected then couldnt use that set or would have to skip to another part of the set.

plus i dont think tape packs make much money anyway so wouldnt be worth there while.

why not just transfer them to a mp3 or burn them yourself if you're worried about it not lasting long.
