If anybody's got any classic sets they can share - here's the place to do it.

I'll start it off with some classic Vibes and Livelee

*edit*

Will upload some more soon.

Is this a joke or do you have a screw loose. Don't share music, especially not hardcore!

Save the mods a job and take these down please.

Come on. They're old sets, no longer for sale. I'm not doing anybody out of any money.

If we don't share these sets will be lost for ever.

Your doing the artists who made the tunes out of money. Say a new happy hardcore compilation comes out, guy looks at the tracklist "hmmm don't think I'll bother I've got a load of them tracks on the set Stevie G uploaded for me". Person doesn't buy, artist looses money.

Please take them down it's against the site rules.

Only if there of a low quality. This IMO, is acceptable as people do it to showcase their dj'ing skills not just because there a cheep git looking for free music. If they wanted to I'm sure a record company would still be well within there right to have the mix taken off the site, even if it was the posters mix.

Anyway... the point is its not your mix, there not your tracks and your just a cheep git hoping other people will post some free sets for you.

The problem with all this is that if they are mixes from Old Dreamscape/ hardcore heaven/ Slammin Vinyl events the only people losing out are the organisations themselves which, if out of print, you will never be able to hear without people sharing them. After all Slammin or Dreamscape never pay the artists for the tunes on their tapes do they. However if these are released mixes (say from the old Hardcore Heaven CD's) Then there's a problem because they were copyrited to begin with.

Well these tapes are of low quality - recorded from a tape pack you are no longer able to get hold of. There are tracks on there no longer pressed.

These sets were recorded 10 years ago and will be forgotten if there's nobody willing to share them. It's not as though I'm posting Slammins last event up is it?

There's little difference in people posting their own mixes as far as the actual tracks are concerned, save for the fact most of those mixes posted for showcase are more up to date which is probably worse.

I don't give a crap if the sets get lost or not personally, it's just a set from some party.

The way I see it, your sharing and encouraging others to share music. If people like you didn't do what you do maybe more copies of tracks would get pressed as demand would be higher and there would be more copies floating about still.

It's not going to effect the sale of vinyl is it?

Else you coudl say that any tape pack released has a negative effect on vinyl sales. In fact I would guess that it probably does quite the opposite. Sets show case tunes for other DJ's who then might say "I want that on vinyl..."

Yeah your right there I shouldn't really have bought vinyl into it. There would however be more cd comp's floating around with the tracks on them.

All my other points still stand though.

Anyway I'll just agree to disagree and let you get on with it.

Of course the mixes on NG are in extremely low quality, and the artist's permission is obtained before uploading.
