sorry it this is way offtopic and a bit weird, but i would like to know few things about UKs school sistem, since it's a bit different than ours. since there's many brit people here,i think i could get some answers:)
i heard, that at age 16, pupils go to college? is this college like high school? i would like to know some college names as well, and where they are.
how long does this college last, and when do they start? my friend (pen-friend) went to college about 3weeks ago (school in summer time??), he said he will be back in 1month.. only 1 month? is this just a break and he visits his family back, or what?

College courses are all different in terms of semester length, depending on the course you take, what college your at, the level of qualification you are studying for (NC, NVQ, HNC, HND, etc.)

Where is Slovenia? anyways??
I,myself was wondering about the (college) school system over in the U.K. too because I'm sort of interested in attending college there...I'm questioning if I'd be able to apply for college both there and in NY or whatever. Like I don't want to submit into a college here in the U.S. and attend a course/sem there a few times...I want for my college to be there. Anyways, I'll sort this out with my guidance councilor or someone, even though I'm just going into my 2nd year of high school next month. Nothing bad about getting a head start.

Slasher wherever you go, make sure the education is up to EU standards, so that your studying there would also be valid in all other EU countrys.

well, it's not just americans, the fact is that atleast 70% of people on earth never heard of slovenia, cos it's so small (about 20.237km^2, and 2million people), AND it's more or the less new country. it seperated and became independent in 1991.
i was in thailand few years ago, i was asked where im from. i said "from slovenia", and they went "oooh slovAKIA, yes! i know of it!" ....................

at the age of 16 you leave highschool and do one of the following:
*you can stay at school and do your a level's for 2 years
*you can leave and get a job in a shop etc
*you can get an apprenticeship (joiner, fitter bricklayer etc)
*you can go to college and get nvq's onc's, hnc's, hnd's etc in joinery, welding, engineering, buisness hairdressing etc. it depends on the course how long its for. usually 2 years or more.
*you can leave and do nothing
thats about it i think

College in the US is like University over here I guess. Some 6th Forms (ages 16-18) call themselves colleges these days in the UK.
The whole education system in the UK is worthless right now.... so many people doing A-Levels and then getting a University degree that its not much different to GCSEs when it comes to employers choosing employees
