Why bring the guy down he's only made 2 posts and he apologised for if the thread had been done before, hate the way folk do that when he's just tryin to get involved.
Not everyones been surrounded by hardcore the last few years and if you've just got back into listening to it your obviously gonna notice a big change from 96 so his questions totally valid.
I was brought up in scotland and at the time he's talkin about the tapes goin around where full on bouncy techno and happy gabba with a lot of dutch influence on our scene, really high energy in your face hardcore.
There is still loads of bangin stuff in all forms of hardcore comin out but if you've only heard a limited amount of new stuff it's easy to see why he finds it lame, which is why i've tried to point out diff stuff to try.
Wasnt until i went to magna 7 at sheffield i realised there was bangin hardcore comin from uk cos i simply didnt get to hear it, only upfront dj who played events i went to was scott brown and he always played bangin old sets or his nu gabba at the time.
The scene in glasgow was still very much old school and gabba with makina at some nights so those were the styles i got into.
The only uk i'd heard was the early raverbaby and it didnt sound like hardcore to me really tame compared to what i new, i also found real trance 10,000 x better so i stupidly thought all the uk scene would be the same.
When i went to magna and saw brisk, scott brown etc playin really bouncy new stuff mixed with gabba i new i'd been wrong and started takin an interest again which i'm very glad i did.
Anyway madd hatter hope you find some stuff that takes your interest pm me if you need any more help i'l happily try and point you in diff directions.
Venga familia!!!

Oh, you must be one of those people that takes forums very seriously. LOL. Its a forum, we post text and numbers, we have fun. I wanted to post a funny picture, nuff said. I'm sure it will happen to me, and all you can do it laugh.
As for the nature of this site, its all hardcore. Put up with it, hug it, eat it, what ever. This scene has to be the most segregated scene ever. Not even the drum and bass people are like this. Heck, drum and bass grew from hardcore (mmmm breakbeat hardcore) and look how much bigger it is? Why? Because they dont care about all these sub-genres and styles and what not. Its all drum and bass, and they buy it to support the scene (along with loving the music)
There is no reason why hardcore cant be as big/popular as drum and bass. Its really up to you, the people, to unite, and call hardcore hardcore, and not to call it crap. Unity is what this scene needs.
But as for funny pictures, I've been wanting to use this one:

Dont take forums particularly seriously mate fair play get a laugh, jus said it cos the guys new think it's better to welcome new folk than try make them look daft. Anyway doesnt really matter you've got a good point about the scene moving forward through unity like dnb, but i do no dnb fans who say there mostly into dark stuff etc. I jus think that when a genre of music is so diverse your bound to get people that like some parts and not others. Jus because you like a few of the uk releases doesnt mean you'l enjoy speedcore or vice versa. It is true that most people could do with trying out more stuff and giving it a chance and it would help the scene. I personally love my makina but to loadsa other folk it's there worst nightmare, just the way things are people like what they like.
Venga familia!!!

I love it all, the freeform, breakbeats, everything, however I'm not quite sure as to why everyone seems to feel dissapointed in the current trancey stuff. I think it's pretty good. It is very uplifting sometimes and sometimes sort of emoyional. I dunno maybe some would much rather not like to feel this way. The bouncy stuff is cool but leave some room for trancecore as well.

thanks to the people who made good replys and didnt make fools of themselves by abusing people over the net-it is cowardly and basically sad.
in regards to subgenres and d&b being united there is alot of people within d&b who critisesise d&b subgenres so i dont think that was the best example.
the change in hardcore is alot more drastic than any music style i think-all i was asking is do you think producers are just seeing how this style goes or adopting it on a full time basis.
anyways old evolution style stuff will always be the best hardcore style imo.

The trancey style is begining to lose originality. A lot of tracks are coming out with very similar synth riffs in them. e.g prince of darkness and re-sauce. I would personally like to see some old skool breakbeats incorporated into tracks. Variety needs to be introduced into hardcore because a lot of tracks are becoming very formulated sounding and predictable.
But saying that, they are still some amazing tunes out at the moment
and some talented new producers emerging

Best way to find more you tracks you like is to keep an open mind and explore other forms of hardcore, thats what I did and I have found tracks in almost every sub genre I like a lot.
Although my fave would be at a party for example:
Some breakbeat hardcore, creates a happy atmosphere, maybe drop a couple then move on to trancecore, seems to get people going fairly good but the ultimate party peak for me and my pals would be gabber, that is great to dance to.
Ofcourse, everyone is different so just experiment with all the sub genres you can get your hands on. Personally to try genres I would download as mp3 to see if you like that style and delete, then buy it if I like it. However it is illegal to share those mp3s, or have them on your computer if you don't own original copys of whatever track.
