I just turned 25 (bout 2 week ago), im starting to think maybe im too old for hardcore music, im the only one outta my group of friends who listens to hardcore. Im thinking, am i to old to be listenin to cheesy riffs & cheesy vocals, not to mention the basic tribal beats.
Ive been listening to the music since i was 14 or so, i rekon maybe its time to move on, and develop my music taste
Then i realised....Bollox.
This is the music i love and will always love for the rest of my life, this is what identifies me and makes me diffrent from everyone else i know.
No matter what happens, i know that hardcore will always put a smile on my face.
Hardcore is my first love, and it wil be my last!!
Sorry, mini rant there.

Don't worry about it. The guys that first introduced me to hardcore have all since lost interest, but I still love it, and I think I always will.
PS. I'm 27

As long as you can still move your feet to it, you should be alright.

Age has nothing to do with it - if you still enjoy the music, keep at it.
Not a single one of my friends is in to Hardcore but that doesn't stop me!

Depends if hardcore is a young persons thing to do or if hardcore is still just a reletively new type of music, so you don't get many old people like other genres?
I'd say you're too young for hardcore. I'm 31, probably the exact age you need to be a true hardcore hardcore fan! I was just finishing school in '89-'90 and this was just when hardcore was starting to take over from acid house parties. If you were around for the birth of hardcore then you should be in your early 30's. I don't look (or act) my age though, so I probably get away with it!
I see a few ageing ravers around as well. They seem to enjoy themselves.
You have responsibility too. Most new young ravers can't stomp or bounce to save their lives. Some old skool ravers have got to show them how it's done!
Anyway, you're only as old as the woman you feel.

I agree with DMS, if you enjoy it, keep ravin'. Fortunately in this scene people don't judge :)

yea we got our old grandad of hardcore DMS at the tender age of 33, and he's coming on strong the old timer
As the rest of this lot have said; age means nothing. your never to old to do what you love.
if hardcore makes you happy, then stay with it man!!!!
the only mates that i've got that are into hardcore are really just the people on the various hardcore forums i use. not a single one of my mates outside of these sites like hardcore; in fact they can't stand it!!! (and its quite funny i always piss them off putting it full blast but let's not get into that now )
Always remember; you are unique, just like everyone else

Sounds like some of you guys need to make more mates!
Don't you find yourself recursively bumping into the same people on different nights and don't you know people nearby who can share trips that are into hardcore?
Sounds well sad to be into it but have no real mates to go with. Do what I do. Find some nice impressionalble Hard House or Trance fans and convert them into hardcore...

Age means nothing. Like what you like, and don't be dictated to by the perceptions of the majority.... you are you, you like what you like etc etc.
I'm 24, been into hardcore for the past 11 or so years, my brother is 28 in a couple of months and listens to hardcore..... I mean look at Ned from CLSM... hes about 114!!!! heh
