What hardcore tunes do u think would get No 1 in the chart if they were released, i would say:

CLSM - Free Your Mind (Sy & Unknown Rmx)
Breeze & Styles - Heartbeatz
69 - Your My Angel

they could make it no problem

And back to the original topic - there is NO CHANCE of a hardcore tune ever being no.1

There's always the possibility of a cover/remix making it but the original? NOT ON YOUR NELLY!!!

I have to disagree mate, a planned and concerted effort, say by clsm or something along those lines could do it. A tune can make it to number 1 by selling less than a couple of thousand copies some weeks, so in theory it is possible. Just unlikely...

Hixxy isn't recon. But I really like that free again tune.

In Finland a trance tune (Cosmic Man "I Love You") that was only released as a 1000copy vinyl release went straight to number 1 in single list. Of course here the limit is MUCH lower then there. It was sold out the first week, witch is the reason it went to number one. If lets say everybody that wanted You're Shining would have bought it the release week. Would it be enough for number one?

Nah, I'm with DMS A hardcore tune will never be number 1 in this country.....simple reason it's far too fast. It would have to be slowed down considerably, and then of course it becomes NOT hardcore!

Your probably right, but if you get a few of the hardhouse and hard trance crew to buy a copy and a few from the general public (possibly by including a couple of remixes), plus all us hardcore heads to buy a couple each. it might just make it.

Something like a well publicised event with clsm doing something crazy and getting the media involved(like the transmisson to mars) could generate enough hype. I really do believe just for a one off that there might be a chance... if everybody got behind it....

Stranger tunes than hardcore tunes have made it to number 1 before....

oh and in terms of speed, some breeze and styles tracks are well slow, 'do you feel the same' is a right plodder and not much faster than some stuff thats in the charts now.

I thought the topic was about which tunes would get to number 1 - not 'would a Hardcore tune get to number 1 with a planned effort by thousands of people'.

You could get a 3 second sample of one of Simon's goats farting to No.1 if there was a big enough campaign by the right people!!!

Great and part of the campaign was to only release details of it at a particular moment as to generate the most sales......It's ruined now thanks to DMS letting it out of the bag!!!

Back to drawing board I go.
