Throughout the ages mankind has moved and adapted to the changing world all the while changing the world around them. Learning how to tune into the universe man has managed to make conscious leaps in evolution. These leaps have left us with abilities setting us apart from other life on this planet. These traits include spoken language, advance visual recognition, and that which we take most for granted, a sense of rhythm. Throughout history the first to make advances are often cast out by society and referred to as freaks only to be respected and admired by later generations. As technology and the ability to obtain information increases at an ever quickening pace, we must prepare ourselves to once again make an evolutionary jump. One year ago we gathered to bring ourselves in line with the cosmic rhythms and sent a message out into the universe that we are ready to advance. Now we come together to receive the response.

ELECTRIC SKYCHURCH

James Lumb created Electric Skychurch as a vehicle for his imaginative, groundbreaking music in 1991. In '93 Skychurch rose up in the LA scene. James was throwing parties at his home in Silverlake, a LA neighborhood teeming with musicians, filmmakers and artists. The late-night events took off, eventually moving from LA to the Mojave Desert, where the parties grew into large monthly gatherings. Within a year, the gatherings exploded to include thousands of people and seeded the notorious “Desert Massive” movement that swept through the American West. During this period Lumb penned "Deus", a song that would come to be recognized as the earliest incarnation of the "West Coast" trance sound. Burgeoning Moonshine Music signed Skychurch in 1994 and released "Deus" and another single, "Creation", followed in 1995 by Skychurch's first full-length ensemble LP, "knowoneness."
During the “knowoneness” sessions, James met Roxanne Morganstern. They were friends for a year before she finally auditioned for a spot in the band. Impressed with her unique and powerful talent, James immediately brought her into the project and, even though it shocked his band mates, shared the spotlight with her the very next week in front of 5,000 fans. The vocal chemistry worked. Fans loved it. They created a magical live show, which instantly catapulted them even further into the spotlight.
After playing hundreds of concerts and festivals that drew crowds in excess of 80,000, Electric Skychurch built a solid grassroots following. During the long tour, James and Roxanne were filmed by director John Reese for interviews that became part of the feature documentary "Better Living Through Circuitry," giving the world a refreshingly honest portrait of the producer and his band mates. The film remains popular and continues to run on the major cable networks worldwide, and has drawn mainstream fans of all ages to the band.

Infected Mushroom is an Israeli psychedelic trance duo which has attained significant popularity from the late 1990s to the present time. Formed by Erez Aizen and Amit Duvdevani (also known as Duvdev) in the city of Haifa, located in the northern parts of Israel, the duo has garnered a large international fanbase. Infected Mushroom are known for their consistent sonic evolution exemplified by the subsequent albums The Gathering (1999), Classical Mushroom (2000), BP Empire (2001), Converting Vegetarians (2003) and the recently released IM The Supervisor (2004).

GEIN, appropriately named after the Plainfield Wisconsin pyscho Edward
Gein, consists of The Butcher (formerly of Defiant), Abel(MC) and
Saint (founder Doon of Habit Recordings). Formed in early 2004, the crew
linked
up when Butcher moved from Los Angeles to Milwaukee, joining Saint and
Abel to create one of the most twisted group of producers out there today.
GEIN's sound can have a variety of "labels", but BRUTAL comes to mind
when most come to describe the demented beats that are forged in the lab.
Coming off a scorching 2005, GEIN is set to take things ten steps further in
2006. With an E.P. for Moving Shadow (Street Sweeper EP) and a 12" for
Freak (Hate / Father Of Lies) in the bag, GEIN's forthcoming material is
raising
eyebrows across the board. Some current forthcoming projects include a
Habit 12" (Telepathy w/Bitfiendz / Hell) that has been causing a ruckus

You might remember some members from parties at the Masquerade, the Atrium, or even the Globe they are basically known for there ill techniques and a Hip Hop/Drum and Bass style. Cristiano Giusberti aka TechnoBoy has been commandeering the wheels of steel for over fourteen years, delivering his own rocket-fuelled brand of techno and hardstyle. Throughout the ‘90s, he played a key role in Italy’s dance scene as an A&R manager for The Saifan Group, Record 66 and Arsenic Sound labels just to name a few. These days, he unleashes his surging hardstyle monsters on the unsinkable Titanic Records label and has more remixes to his name than he can count.

With banging tunes like ‘Let It Go’, ‘That’s How I Roll’ and ‘The Power Within’ up his sleeve, DJ Gammer (aka Matt Lee) constantly deals out the aces! After a chance encounter with Dougal one night out, the duo are now legendary partners in production with a bottomless crate of dancefloor classics to their name. His solo tracks have appeared on compilations like Bonkers, Hardcore Heaven and Hardcore Nation and most recently, he’s collaborated with DJs In-Effect, Kevin Energy, Sharkey and MC Storm!
LISA MARIE (UK) Live Pa
When Dougal & Gammer need an angelic voice to ride their propulsive beats, they call upon Lisa Marie. Her golden vocals have graced their dancefloor gems like ’Tell Me a Story’, ’ How Did I Get Here’, ‘Open Your Eyes’ and most recently, ’Drive Me Crazy’. She’s also performed on the classic United In Dance tunes, ’Still the One’ and ’Lift Me Above’, making her one of the global scene’s most recognised singers. Tonight she performs in live PA mode.

Splicing together hard trance, techno and their own signature productions, brothers Matt & Scott Harris have spent more than ten years in the business apiece. At home on the prestigious Nukleuz label, these sound surgeons are best known for incendiary hits like ‘Locked Tight’, ‘Black Out’ and ’99.9’. They scored big last year when their ‘Turntablism’ tune took out Best Track at the Hard Dance Awards. With an explosive ‘Dex & FX’ live show, these doctors of hard dance are in the house and ready to operate!
VINYLGROOVER (UK)
Pinned by Mixmag as “one of the best the hard dance scene has to offer”, Scott Attril has set the scene on fire with trailblazing tunes like ‘Show Me A Sign’, ‘Midnight Express’ and ‘Stay’. Fans of his work include Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, BK, Anne Savage and Rob Tissera just to name a few. Along with Jim Sullivan (aka The Red Hed), he’s established the burgeoning Traffic Records imprint, releasing cuts like ‘Dancing Naked in the Rain’, ‘Don’t You Want My Love’ and their remix of Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness.
LISA ABBOTT (UK) Live Pa
Without a doubt hardcore’s most prolific vocalist, Lisa is best known for lending her voice to massive tunes like Breeze & Styles’ ‘You’re Shining’ and Darren Styles’ ‘Getting better’ (which went top ten in the UK). As well as collaborating with the likes of Gammer, Force, Resist, Fracus and Hixxy, Lisa has also worked on numerous solo projects with a resume boasting hits like ‘Blow me Away’ and ‘The One’. This will be her first time in Sydney so be prepared to be blown away.
ALEK SZAHALA (FIN)
Alek Száhala fell in love with music production as soon as he got his first sound card in 1993. One of Finland’s best kept secrets until he exploded on the global scene in 2003 with harddance anthems like ‘Superstition’, ‘Man Eaten’ and ‘Tlaloc’, he’s established himself as one of the key players in the FiNRG movement taking it to the world. Describing his style as ‘hyper-energetic’, his super-charged sound spans melodic trance and trancecore to dark, soaring hard-NRG.
RX (FIN)
Ville Sorsa’s energetic stage shows, unique combination of mixing and scratching and furious brand of FiNRG and sinister freeform has earned superstar status in his homeland’s hard dance scene. Flaunting dancefloor detonators like ‘Frozen Flame’ and ‘Hellfire’, the 25-year-old has also turned heads around the world with his ‘Codex’ mix series, now in its third instalment. He’s the driving force behind FINRG Recordings, Scandinavia’s first and foremost hard dance label, so prepare for some serious Finnish fury when he lands in Sydney.
STORM (UK)
UK hardcore DJ Alistair Taylor loves Sydney so much, he moved here last year to concentrate full time on his productions. With partners Euphony and Spinback, he’s built up a hardcore empire with a five (!) labels to his name including Warped Science, Destructive Force, Cloned, Underground and Moondance. His fearsome style of driving, uplifting hardcore has seen him remix the likes of Dougal, Force & Styles, Bang and Vinylgroover. With a huge array of new homegrown tunes, this will be Storm as you’ve never seen him before.
IN-EFFECT (UK)
When hardcore godfather DJ Hixxy tags you “the next big breakthrough artist”, you know you’re doing something right. Paul Bevan is already riding high on huge collaborations with Dougal, Gammer, Breeze and Impact and has impressed many with his solo productions too. Never one to sit still stylistically, his approach draws from a broad palette of hardcore with streaks of nosebleed gabba. This month sees the release of his collaboration with Gammer, ‘We Come Alive’/’Stuck in a Moment’ through Nukleuz records, which is sure to tear heads off.
COMPULSION (UK)
Working in the studio with artists such as Dougal, Gammer, In-Effect and Deejaybee, this 24-year-old dynamo has already released dancefloor cuts on the legendary hardcore labels Essential Platinum, Infinity Recordings and Maximum Impact. He regularly DJs up and down the UK (Hardcore Till I Die, United Dance, Hardcore Heaven et al) and already has a few laps round the world under his belt. Coupled with his studio work, Compulsion is fast becoming one of the hardest working and innovative DJs on the circuit.

This Australian-born DJ (now based in Toyko) is best known for founding happyhardcore.com, the world’s most popular hardcore dance website. Riding on the back of its success, this tastemaker has become the most listened-to internet hardcore DJ on the planet. Somehow, he also finds time to run several record labels including MasterWax Records and Infinity Recordings. He’s released countless quality compilations, including the Hardcore Tsunami series and the Australia-only four disc mix series, ‘Ultimate Hard Trance & Happy Hard’.

Talent: WONDER 3 JULY 1 2006 DJ MAGIC MIKE Before he was The former Michael Hampton began his mixing career even a teenager, spinning at a roller rink and selling mixtapes. By the age of 14, he was hosting a drive-time radio show in his native Orlando. He began concentrating on club work after finishing high school, and debuted on wax with 1987's "Boot the Booty" for Vision Records. One year later, local promoter Tom Reich offered DJ Magic Mike a chance at a half-share in his own Cheetah Records if Mike's releases sold well. His first singles under the agreement, "Magic Mike Cutz the Record" and "Drop the Bass," both became big regional hits, sparking the release of his debut album, DJ Magic Mike and the Royal Posse in 1989. He took more of a guiding hand over his own instrumental productions for the follow-up, 1990's Bass Is the Name of the Game, and the album went gold despite its low vocal content. Mike's breakthrough LP, Ain't No Doubt About It, appeared in 1992, followed by the release of two LPs on the same day in late March; both Bass: The Final Frontier and This Is How It Should Be Done charted, and the former went gold. FIRST AZ APPEARANCE NOISIA Noisia (the word VISION rotated 180 degrees) is a Dutch drum and bass trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, (The Netherlands). After a few fruitful collaborations with Martijn, who had been involved in music (hip hop production/classical piano) for quite a while before he hooked up with Nik and Thijs, Martijn was added to the Noisia team. Noisia has released music on well-known labels such as Teebee's Subtitles, Rob Playford's Moving Shadow and Renegade Hardware. They have also collaborated with well-known drum and bass artists, such as Cause 4 Concern, Teebee and Bad Company UK. They have remixed Konflict's anthemic Messiah, and have been remixed by artists like Teebee and Matrix.

Later on he moved to Florida were he, together with Miami Bass experimented with New York Electro House style. After that Jeremy moved back to New York were he started producering hardcore-music wich was very succesfull. In Europa his first releases were on the CD's Mind Candy Volumes 1 en 2. His great breaktrough was on the Thunderdome 3 cd with the track "The Mind Destroyer" in 1993. He made severall hits like Immortality (together with Buzz Fuzz), The way that we rocked it (together with Guitar Rob), I was born hardcore and lots more. This little man's mixing skills are very big, ID&T booked this guy many times for their famous Thunderdome Partys. DJ Delirium succesfully produced and still makes hardcore nowadays.
