... although all the current crop of rotating-platter CD players are pretty sexy as well. Kinda pricey, though.

Meh... I'm fine with my one CDJ100s. It's small, and can fit on my desk! And not as expensive. All of these companies making this macho CD turntables. CDJ will always rule in my view.

I saw this the other week in a shop... I ignored it because I thought it was a turntable... haha.... whoops.

Yeah, I can easily see why it would get mistaken for a turntable it does look pretty big!!!

and we'll get the same problem with the tecnics cd player.....it's the same dimensions as a 1200 turntable

Ive actually just got myself anumark axis 9 which i think is great and i will be saving up for anotether one.
I would have gone for CDJ 800s but i cant afford 2 of them however hard i try :(

At first, I noticed the lack of tonearm and needle and was gonna ask if that funky red laser-looking thingy was some kind of newfangled optical reader. Good thing I realised it was a CD player, or else I would've looked quite the fool (as if I don't normally anyways) 
Thinking about it, though, my financial reserves (or lack thereof) and the fact that I couldn't scratch to save my life no matter how hard I try means that I can't really justify spending that much for the pleasure of turntable-style cueing. Unless an Armaguard van just happens to back up to my front lawn and deposit its cargo, I'll have to stick with CDJs.
