The industry standard set of decks have to be a pair of 1200's or 1210's. I'm using 1210's and they are by far, THE BEST set of decks I have ever been blessed with using. So in my opinion the 1200's & 1210's are the best.

People who say they wont touch anything bar a technics deck are really gonna get left behind. When the CD revolution starts to dominate, using different brands/models will have to be something you are prepared to do.

I personally think technics are the poorest of the big 3 (stanton and citronic may have the spec but the execution is poor). THe tracking is shoddy. There are blatant design flaws and the decks being built now just aren't that reliable anymore. I don't mind playing out on them. They are a ver good deck. 3rd place out of all the decks out there is not to be sniffed at. I can use them I just find myself wishing I had the flexiblity of a bigger pitch range or better handling given by greater torque.

I'd also like to add that anyone who buys 1210's MK5's at £900 a pair really should get "Mug" tattood on their forehead. I swear DJ's have to be some of the most ill informed and easily conned consumers out there as regards equipment.

Of the decks, I've tried, whilst djing on a friend decks or at a shop, the only ones that compare to technics, are the stanton st/str8 - 150's , you can adjust the torque from belt drive standard, to 4.5kg per cm, similar with the brake, the strongest braking i've ever seen, reverse, 3 speeds, key correction stuff, but most importantly they look and feel just as, if not more durable than 1210s, but they cost £900 a pair though.

All the decks, everyone has mentioned are far better than my KAM Belt drives anyway!

In my opinion, the technics are the way foreward, however the new stantons look nice :|;) and also expensive, as silver said u need to get usto teh club standard rly, and they are a class deck :D

There will always be a standard... at the moment most clubs have CDJ100's or CDJ1000's for CD players for example

i was put off buying technics when i went to sell my old decks and buy new ones because of too many people telling me that it should be "technics all the way" and "technics are the only way to go" which was not un-like a bunch of christians telling me "jesus is the truth and the light" or "jesus is lord"

annoying.

as it is, i bought TTX1's insted, and they're doing a fine job.

although i can see your point about clubs having 1210's - which i agree with.
i cant see technics changing from club-standerd anytime soon.

anyone who cant see past a 1210 need to take a look around, cause there is some serious competition out there now. - no matter how many MK's you do, that competition is still going to be getting stronger..and there are only so many things you can do to a 1210 until other dj's start complaining that its starting to look too much like a "toy"

*hugs his ttx1's*..my babies

I am a lil disappointed with my pdx2000's actually .. the pitch fader is wayy to slick ... its hard to get it absolutely spot on .. needs more stiffness ...

.... i'm considering selling them to get 1210's but i dunno .. any opinons?

just go for one of the main competitors, they're pretty much the same -

have a look at what they do, and get what you think looks and works best. - even better, try and get to a store which has a good selection and use them all...then decide for yourself, whatever feels good for you.

if anybody tells you that "this is the only deck to use" they are full of shit, theres a few good decks out there and they all have pros and cons.

look around..have a look over this thread - they'res already a few opinions in here.

just remember to get what YOU want, not what a load of t*ts who think they know best hehe.

good luck mate! =)

I bought a pair of 1210 mk3's and was not disapointed. the only thing that got me a bit p'd off was that if you want bigger pitch you have to fork out more money to get the parts.

As for which deck is better, if you got all of the main competitors decks, put them is the same shell with the same pitch, you would be hard pushed to tell the difference anyway. I've had the pleasure of using 1200's, 1210's, vestax(three models), numarks and stantons and there are only very sutle differences in them(pitch and torque being the main ones).

out of the top 3 decks around at the mo they all have faults as well a plus points.but if im honest the tecs do still seem to be the most durable in design, which is a major plus point.
any compatent dj should be able to use high end decks to a required standared anyway
not to sure about dezmondo saying the tecs have design flaws or poor tracking thou m8
but i agree with him that anyone who says that you have to stick by one thing is gonna get left behind.a good dj should be versatile.

anyone who plays out will say esp in England, that the standred or at least working condition of equipment in alot of clubs has a lot to be desired sometimes.so is best to be able to adapt.

You can't go wrong with either The tt1's or any 1200/1210's. Both are remarkable decks, i've played on both. The numarks torque is outragious! it's awsome... for you guys wondering why that's important, well... when you're holding your record while your platter is spinning, you want to be able to have IMMIDIATE response when you let it fly for more precise beat matching with less time pushing the record to it which gets you in the mix alot quicker. The torque is so intense on the tt1's the only drawback i find is having the "touch control" when you may want to tap you're record to slow it down or push it into play. You'll need to really be proficient with the pitch slider instead... which makes those "worbley" noticable annoyances seem to just disappear. My advice is: you get what you pay for. Technics are tried and true. The Numarks are blowing away the competition, but are they going to hold up for you 10 years? Other than that.... practice practice practice practice practice and then practice some more... you'll go through alot of girlfriends trying to be the best DJ you can... it's about devotion. ******* the b u l l s h i t it's time to throwdown! Peace to all the Dj's. Dj rob e rob!
