just a bit of advice i need really. just recently started trying my hand at making a few tunes (not going too good!!) just wondering how to get a nice trancy sound on fruityloops? any help would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, you'll need a synth that can produce Trancy sounds, for this you can't beat the Novation V-Station (in my opinion), or Native Instruments Pro 53, Fm7, RGC Audio Z3ta, they are perfect.
Then when you do riffs, try to arpeggiate them, i'll tell you in better detail on msn :) I don't know alot, but i'll tell you what i *do* know :)

fm7 is best for essential platinum style sounds, I'd actually recommend the junox2 and pro53 though for breeze & styles sounds - although you could always use a virus C... ;)

Or, if you don't want to use the super power of VST's, you can try to use the 3osc.
I use 3osc (on saw waves, nice and detuned) -> flanger -> blood overdrive -> reverb -> pingpong delay (delay 2)
