They both suck, but if I had to choose, it would be (underground) hardhouse.
Why? harder bass, better rythm and breaks. Trance is way too synth-orientated and doesn't have the go-wild-party-vibe.

Trance makes my ears hurt, but hardhouse is a bit boring.... i'd go with hardhouse in the end cos its better to dance to!!!!!

trance is good to listen to,hard house is full of energy but it hasn't really gone anywhere so it's boring in a sense.
but as for scouse house,i think its ace,i did a tape full of it a few weeks ago and i've had people trying to get it out of my car and people fighting over it lol

I'd say Hardhouse, but if I had all choices, definetly Hard core, trance is too "weak" in my opinion :D

It depends

Trance for something to sit back & relax to

Hard House to get up & rave to

Trance seems to make alot of crappy covers of classic hardcore tunes & makes them to slow

Hard House has the fat bass line i like but lack with a good tune to follow with

So Hardcore rules everytime no doubt about it

Ain't that dance?
And it's not exclusively dance covers HC, but also the other way around (but this always proves to by an improvement).

First of all do not mistake trance, for commercial trance, as commercial trance sounds nothing like trance (trance is just a much nicing sound word than "kiddy-pop shite" for the big record labels to use for marketing)

But Hard-House vs Trance? I think it depends on what mood you are in, I like hard house when it has a nice funky kickdrum to it, Trance is nicely melodic (for some reason,i consider it to be nice relaxing chill out music)
Hard Trance is very nice combination of the two, and when techno elements are added into the scheme of things (Marco V Style) you have a very nice genre of music.

Of the two, I prefer trance, its far more emotive and varied, with it big epic end-of-the-world type breakdowns, and for some strange reason, i believe it could even be said to be the modern day form of classical music. It's probally the heavy use of strings and synths, and not just plain drum beats, that makes me think that.

Heh, didn't Tiesto do a live P.A, where he conducted a orchestra or something like that? The only live Trance P.A I've ever seen is NU-NRG and they were ****ing awesome, I 'd love to see them again.

Trance is miles better, hardhouse is just mindless beats with no melody, but each to his own as they say
