lol dnt listen to midway raver..
DJALPHA im currenty in the same predicament as u.. altho im willin to wait a while for my gear
but first off wats your budget ???im guessin it aint gonna b up to much so ill reconmend some cheap starter tables..
first off ONLY BUY direct drives... trust me.. now as far as budget tables goes... the Citronic PD1 , Gemini SA600 and Gemini XL500mk2's... seem to be the cheapest .. each goin for around £150 each , new...
however id reconmend doin wat im doin atm,, and thats buyin second hand technics 1210's.. basically cos these turntables are the ferrari of the turntable world.. every club has them, and they've been around for yeeears, and aparently ther really relaible and never die.. so second hand buyin provided ther in good cond is a good option... now second hand technics from my experience wiv Ebay and such are goin for around £225 each...now thats onl £75 more than the cheaper budget tables... ask yourself wud u rather start on sum classic tables, for a little extra cash... or wud u start on sum of the cheaper DD tables... up to u really.. but im plannin on buyin the second hand 1210's basically cos ther the best and if ther in adecent cond , ill neva have to buy tables again !!! :D..
thats jst my opinion neway..
as far as mixers go.. i believe the Gemini budget ranges are fairly good.. such as the PS540i,,packed wiv features such as kill switches and crossfader curve all for under £100!!! ..
good luck buyin your kit !!!

Okay, I really don't want to sound mean, but you really honestly seem to have no idea what you're talking about or what you want to do.
I'd love to help, but it's very hard. I can't tell if you want to produce or spin. If you're looking to produce, you should look in to a soft-studio such as reason or fruityloops, or, if can afford it, splurge a bit and buy cubase sx and a few VSTis. Always a safe bet. Fruityloops Producer ($129) is a good bet if you're really on a tight budget and also supports VSTis. It's more than enough for a beginner, but you may want to look in to orion which is (I believe) cheaper, if not a bit more watered down. Making Waves Studio and... magix music maker... are also low cost solutions although you'll be hard-pressed to really get anything... good... from them.
Turntable wise, for the spinning aspect (which it doesn't seem like you wish to do) I have to recommend waiting and buying high quality decks. Turntables aren't like other pieces of equipment and unless you go for the rather expensive models you're gonna wind up a few years down the road having to shell out more cash without getting much of anything back from a sale or trade-in (if the decks are still working at that point.) If you really can't wait, be sure you're not buying belt drives. Try going for some low-level stanton or numark direct drives, I wouldn't recommend gemini personally because I've never had good experiences with them but I've heard plenty of stories of great equipment from them so... I can't give you much helpful information. As for a mixer, try a low level vestax or stanton, though you'll be paying more for a mixer with fewer features than a numark or gemini, it'll put up with a lot more rough use than a cheaper mixer.
All my opinions.

I strongy recomend Orion Platinum, it's a software studio and I seem to be able to make good hardcore tracks on it. the work flow is better than fruityloops I think.
For VSTis I recomend somthing from those reFX boys, the Junox2 is good, don't think you can get that version now off the site because they are working on Junox3
I also recomend FM7 (how ever you get hold of it!) it's got a very good trance lead preset, you just add a bit of delay and reverb to it and it sound like a virus C in action! :)
