Professionals dont use MP3 mixing software live, unless it's final scratch hehe , but if you need to I recommend Traktor.

Yes i know. But it would be good if i could go to a party with a couple of cd's and rip shit up cause just about everyone i know has a computer now. It would just be fun you know. Half hour sets for all, very interesting. Thanx for your suggestion.

Atomix Mix is quite a good program for mixing ,you can record aswell ,even as one song or as split up songs.

I use Sonic Foundrey's Vegas for making my own mix CD's - it's great for big files, but unfortunately has no auto bpm matching.

I thought Vegas was an audio/video editing package..... not an mp3 mixing program like Final Scratch or Traktor
As for what software would I recommend..... I havn't tried Final Skratch (unfortunately  ) but I of the rest of them I would reccomend Traktor..... although I'm still not its biggest fan....... although it could be really wikkid with a hardware interface!!!

Excellent....... still can't afford FS though ..... not yet anyway hehehe
The Mixman thing was the DM2..... theres a prog that you can use to convert it for use with traktor....... its not that great though, I was thinking more in terms of a few buttons and sliders that could talk with the pitch and the crossfader etc.... shouldn't be too difficultto make.... I have one of sorts.... set up my controller keyboard to output the right midi messages, but its no substitute for having dedicated buttons and knobs

Used to DJ a bit on fearfm a few years back (soutcasting) and we always used Virtual Turntables or VTT, not used it for years and don't know if they've made a new version, just thinking aloud... Hope that helps!

VTT hasn't be updated in ages, it's old technology and not very high quality.
