Good times.

Sometimes, being old has it's advantages

Liquid's "Sweet Harmony" is no doubt an all time, top 10 hardcore classic. "Sweet Harmony" also seems to be one of the few early 90s rave tracks that sounds better the *slower* it's pitched down. There's also been a bunch of good, to very good remixes made of the Liquid version in the 25 years since XL released it.

Also, I always assumed the 1993 remix on Naughty Naughty Volume 3 (1993) updated it just enough to keep it relevant to the faster, rougher 1993 HappyJungleBreakbeat sound that was literally moments away from splintering into different genres forever. Most of the HHC remixes from the later 90s were always in my crate too. And even today everyone, old and young, seem to know the words.

But it's longevity all makes total sense when you go back and listen to it's origin: Ce Ce Rogers's "Someday" from 1987 (Marshall Jefferson production) - a cut so deep and underground, yet so inviting and inclusive that 65 year olds living today who came up in, or even just casually partied, in the mid-80s New York and Chicago house scenes will ALWAYS know it (and sing it).

Ce Ce Rogers - "Someday" (Club Mix): https://youtu.be/LbInUOgJJ0U

The tune was, is, and always has been pure magic. And no matter how new or jaded someone is, they have to admit that the ethos of the lyrics are kind of the foundational backbone of every successive generations attempt to articulate the 'thing' they're a part of (gay clubs, loft parties, raves, underground, festivals, revivals, etc.).

Whoa, rambling post. All I really meant to say is that it's a total banger in way a way few tracks can ever be.

I like the Naughty Naughty version best. Danny Byrd did a jungle version I liked as well!

One of the most recognisable piano breakbeat tunes. I will have to check out some remixes!

Found a great condition XL release of this at a car boot a few weekends back, the moment that piano drops your hairs stand on end. A real dance gem for sure

For me, by far the the bestion version was Trixxy's remix under the name of 'Shortfuse - Hard Harmony.

Certainly better than their dull boring original take on it.

For some reason I thought Breeze & Styles did this remake.
