hmm we had an arguement before in the chat room about decks to start on, for your first decks i wouldnt reckonmend getting technics, get some cheapy numarks to practice on etc, the resale isnt that good but what if you decide you dont wanna dj or something and you just paid loads of dollar for technics, but its up too you really.

choose the future.....choose hardcore!

If you know you want to dj (you say you have experiance) and the price of mk5's is not a problem - go ahead mate. Moving from cheaper decks to technics which is often invitable means more money and its like learning to mix again. Go for it.

I say if you've got the money for MK5G's then do it...it's good to start with the best, then to have to out grow your decks, and upgrade...

Buy em mate,I bought myself some numark tt100's,Some cheap little things to learn on and a couple of months later bought some vestax pdx 2000
Just as good as technics specifications wise, just a lot cheaper so there's no point in buying shitty decks cos after a bit youll just want something better anyway and if youve got the money to buy some technics,do it.

LOL

If ya know you wanna stick at it and have the money then get Techs. They have good resale value. Though personnally id havew a look at the vestax and the numark ttx1s too.

Peace, love and unity

Yeah...if spinning is not for you you can make your money back on Techs on eBay (My god people love to pay a lot more, but there are still good deals)

Techs don't seem to lose there price value...

Technics are no longer the bench mark of reliability that they used to be. At impact we use Numark TTX-1's and I've just sold my Stanton STR8-100's to get a pair. Piss all over technics MK5's. Though the MK2's represent good value for money.

To be fair though mixing CD's is just as good as vinyl cos you'll be able to get all the promos firt. They just ain't as tactile.
