Hello all !

Just bought recently the audio realism ABL2 to do some acid bassline,

Trying to copy some bassline of early chicago house for learning, i'am new to production

Iam getting mad about trying to recreate this bassline particulary:
Jack Frost and the Circle Jerks - Cool And Dry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlREnSaZtfc

Seems like the 1st note start at the 5th step?

If i'am correct, only notes on the 5 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 14 / 16 steps are playing. But I'am not sure how many notes are playing. I count 7 or 8 notes in total. Maybe the first one is longer.

Dont know how they make this effect, like the bassline is "trailing". Maybe they did use 2 TB303 ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Mike

Lol, that is possibly the most basic tune I've ever heard! I think i can count 11 notes being played, maybe more. It's hard to tell without trying to recreate it myself and counting the notes. The sequence can very easily achieved with ABL2. Definitely not 2 303's being played. There isn't even any slides (which is what i assumed you meant before listening) and for the most part no accents either, but a couple of the notes drop an octave in pitch so maybe that's what you're thinking of. If i had ABL anymore I'd recreate it to show you!
